New Map-Maker here, I could use a bit of help.

Alright, I've made a few maps before, but none were great. Currently I'm working on an RPG that will take a long amount of time to complete. The problem is, I dont know how to make custom abilities, and I didnt understand the tutorials. All I can do is edit pre-made stuff. Can anyone help me out?

Erm, personally I think this is in the wrong forum, but anyways, on topic. Are you using ROC editior? Or The Frozen Throne? That could explain alot if your having trouble doing things. From what your saying your using The Frozen Throne. I'll give you more information on how to do things if you are.

Yes, im using the Frozen Throne editor. I'm trying to make an ability thats called Paralyzing Blow that does initial damage as well as continued damage, a long with a few SFX. But I just can't seem to get it to work.

If there is no spell, that works in the same way as you want, you have to make a Jass-based spell. With Jass you can create nearly every spell. But Jass-scripting is very advanced and if you don't know the basics, you should take a look at the Jass Vault: http://www.wc3campaigns.com/forums/f...?s=&forumid=65

Well i think there is a spell similar to what your looking for, its the second spell the warden has or if you want it to have AOE you could use blood mage's first spell (the fire one), sorry i forgot the name of them.

If your a new mapper i advise you not to go into JASS yet, its way way too difficult to understand at first. You'll need to know your triggers off heart and you need to know the basic coding structure for typing custom text (JASS). If it sounds confusing already dont bother with Jass for now.
