Negative values in items?

Is there any way I can setup items to give Negative stat mods? as in having a item give -5 to all stats? I've tried turning the "use negative values" on and it still won't let me do this.

Would it be possible to do this editing the MPQ file or whatever?

Unless you are making a mod it is impossible, blizzard said that it would crash the game.

You can use triggers to take out the stats though
