copy and paste. its when you take part of something else and put it on your skin. dont do it or everyone gets very angry with you :bgrun:

I *really* don't see why ppl frown upon C&P so much. In many situations it's a highly effective method to achieve nice visuals that doesn't clash with the artistic style of wc3. Sure, if most of your skin is taken from another skin we all know and recognize, the effect is partly spoiled right away, but if done right it's by no means obvious and it usually look at least decent. The way I've done most of my skins so far is opening an old skin, thinking long and hard about how to make a new one and then retrieving a bunch of other blizzard skins from all kinds of different places. I'd then either carefully imitate the style and stuff from details in the skins to make similar things in my new skin, or I'd simply C&P the details and then carefully adjust and polish it to make it fit in. It's a cheap and easy way to avoid having to do the ground work (which is my weakest skill), and it's not like it's _that_ much easier than making something from scratch.

Taking credit for something that's partly not your own is totally a non-issue for me. All that matters is that the final skin looks cool ingame, where it comes from is irrelevant.

I guess I should add that what I'm talking about here is C&P from *original Blizzard wc3 skins*. Taking stuff from other ppls skins without permission is just wrong, and taking stuff from other sources entirely is... well, less appealing to me. And it usually doesn't look very good :P

yes, i dont think cnp is bad, just taking credit for it is, really in any form and if its from someone elses skin thats definitly wrong. but if you cnp for a multiplayer game on B.net, theyre so stupid they wouldnt notice

err now that the guy knows what it is, i think a mod should close this, so it doesn't fall into a flame wars.
