umm..... you open a file in hex.... and you look for patterns. after modifying it... and eventually figuring out the structure and documenting it, you create a program the will change the long, float, string, etc. in the structure and save it.

what i want to do in the future is make an editor that allows you to do everything. for now though i just want to make another advanced editor that lets you do other things that other advanced editors don't but for now thats classified. ;)

I'm afraid that with such a vague goal and little knowledge of programming, you're going to have problems. But hey, you never know until you try, right?

those enhanced editor are not PROGRAMs. They just change some stuff on SLKs and TXTs to allow you to place hidden stuff. Take a look on some slks of blink and compare to the game's original ones.

Sounds like that should be your first goal.

If you can't get Blink to work on your own, then you've no change of creating an editor to do everything.

The Blink is the easiest enchancer for Warcraft III. You have to extract all files from the ZIP archive to your WC3 folder, but with the folder structure. If you did it correctly, an Units and an UI folder are in your WC3 directory containing som TXT and SLK files.
