I am trying to create a skill that allows a ranged hero to attack at longer range by spending mana. The attack should be made with the unit's normal attack damage. Obviously, I can't use a direct damage skill like Firebolt, since they have fixed damage values. I tried setting the range of Searing Arrow to more than the normal attack range, but the hero still couldn't use it at longer than its normal range. Does anyone know if there is any way to do this? |

Unit Aquisition range... Unit attack range CANNOT be further than Unit Aquisition range...dunno why. |

I would have thought that self-explanitory. Because it can't apuire the target. |

I'm also not sure if Searing arrows will work. I think the range of Searing arrows only dictates when you can use the skill to modify your normal attack, could be wrong. Here's a thought: Create an invisible duplicate of the Hero using the skill next to the unit that is targetted with the ability when you activate it. Unless, that is, you want this to be a modal skill that just increases your normal range... |

I did set aquisition range to longer than the skill's range. Zechnophobe's idea might work, I'll try it out. A few problems with it, though: * Wouldn't the invisible unit have to belong to another player (neutral one) for the invisibility to work against the player owning the hero? If so, that player would get the bounty and such. * I have another skill on the same hero that, when active, gives the hero crit with ~90% prob and a 50% miss chance, so the miss/<dmg>! text would be over the invisible copy. Thanks. |

Aquisition range is very important. It sometime connect to the line of sight range. Aquisition range mean that how far for the unit could detect the enermy and start attack. Even if you can see the enermy on the screen, but your units could not detect it that far so it won't attack. |

Aqquisition range can actually limit the range of a unit. Dunno why, bug? |
