At least they're better than TDs. And although sucky ones suck, good ones are coming. Like mine, or Zachary_Shadow's. |

Not all TDs are god-awful, just *Mauls and similar ilk. Skibi's castle is downright clever with its mini-games between rounds. AoS games are hard to replicate, I'm gathering, because I've played some god-awful knockoffs. Keys of Sealing is still one of my favorites just because of the novel victory condition. Not that I see Keys being played all that often, but I respect innovation, even if the majority of players on B.net don't. |

Anyways; There. Are. Too. Bloody. Many. AOS'. Out. There. I don't have ehnough fingers, toes, and hairs on my body to count them all. And now I'm talking about the Good ones. The BAD ones there are even more of. No. Leave the AOS' for now. Go for... Open RPGs!!! Yeah! |

Oh crap I should stop working on Monster Mash 2 right now! |
| 12-03-2003, 10:50 PM | #8 |
Nooo, monster mash was pwn (except for the lag at game end but.. w/e). :( Keep working on it :D I don't play most games, I've only played popular AOS like.. ToB, and DotA. If it's not popular I am likely not going to try it, just because.. I already have like 200 bazillion maps in my download folder and I don't need 50 more crap maps per day to add to that list. But I played an AoS that I really liked, it was just 5 heroes VS the comp, it was like half an AoS (I think it was just called "Mini Aeon of Strife")- it was REALLY fun. There's something to be said about games that are not RPGs but still 100% co-op. |

Thanks for the support I'll hopefully finish working on it, this time there is a limit to the ammount of units each computer can make to prevent the major ammounts of lag. |

well.. im making an AOS but its not any normal AOS... if its just team a vs team b its boring, even if you throw in a team c... to make it good i think it needs new features and ideas but really.. ill have to agree there are too many bad ones :bgrun: and then TDs... i havent seen a good one since Cube D... like 6 months ago :bgrun: and mauls... omfg inexplainable GAYNESS!!!!! theres like 8 versions with zelda with snow terrain 3 for SSMB on snow, 19 for zelda on lava its insane and people actually take credit for it! lol i could go make a new one in 5 minutes right now:WD: IT GAY! sorry i got off topic |

I dont think any particular genre is crappy, every genre is capable of producing great maps, and crap ones. Although yes, some genre consistently produce crappy maps. |

Eh are we looking at the same custom map list? Maybe they are replayed more, and that should say something right there, but I don't think they are dominating the custom map list. Honestly the only thing that hasn't happened is an AoS that has taken advantage of TFT. I think, as far as trigger wise, we've done that with TBC, but I'm a little bit biased :) [shameless plug] Go play TBC and find out for yourself if you like it. [/sameless plug] |
