I personally love Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy 5 is my favorite however, and I would really like to see it become a great WC3 RPG. We wouldn't have to have it be in three separate maps like it is on the game, we might just have to do on of the worlds and call it good. If anyone has any ideas or wants to join this project just reply to this thread. I think if we get enough good people working on this project we could make a map that would blow anything else ever made out of the water. FF5 has such a strong story that we could make an awsome RPG. [¤] = job filled [ ] = job open still Here is a list of ppl that would be needed for the RPG -Several skinners [¤] -Several really good modelers [¤] -Several competent modelers [¤] -Expert Terrainer (the terrainer needs to have played the game)[¤] -Concept atrist [¤] I will be doing the triggers and icons for the game. I really, really need a good terrainer at this point so that he can start working on the map. its awsome man, your definitly on the team. Do you have any experience with makeing a good UVW map? I am kind of a noob at modeling but I would like to make at least one model for this. I have it done but I just can't get the UVW map to work right. |

How do you want to make this? It would be awful long. Just think about the fighting systems... Then think about the class systems.... I dont even think it is possible... Good luck anyway but you would need hundred of map |

i have been thinking about how to do the battle system. I think i have it worked out in my head, and it will be the best triggers up to date. I only plan on doing one of the worlds not all three, because ur right that would take ages. If you think about it though, life is long and difficult, but you will never get anywhere unless you try to live it. |

I could uvwmap. When you do, send me the .3ds version of the model. I have a basic layout of the battle system in my head, but i have no insight on the inverntory yet. |

mistehwiggles can you do anything besides unwrap? I could really use a good modeler. The battle system would be pretty easy in my mind. When you randomly ran into a battle I would just put a blurry fade filter over the game and then transport your heros do a different part of the map with several fixed cameras. When you are actually battling, I think I will use Floating text to choose attacks and then make a small little trigger that orders your units do do the attack chosen by the player. I have one question about it though, is it possible to make something happen when you press enter/ctrl/space? I know how to do esc and the arrow keys, but any others. I know they are recognized b/c of hotkeys. For the inventory, i really have no idea how to do it. Storing the items would be a breeze, but having a user friendly way to access and use them is not so easy. I have also been wondering about how we are going to handle towns/caves/shrines etc... whether I would do a camera zoom, or just have a separate map, or just have a separate part of the map set aside for each one. |

lol, i'm so sorry for the confusion. I thought you were someone different that hadn't posted yet. lol sry I don't have aim, but i could get it if it would be needed. It sounds like you got some pretty good ideas for the inventory. I though of maybe having a building spawn when you wanted to access your inventory that had items that you have picked up. I am not quite sure if it would work, but it is an idea. BTW, mistehwiggles, do you want the FFV mod sig that I made? phantaysdreamer, the whole class system will be a breeze compared to the battle sequences we want to do. |

shure. I was thinking about that, but then when the character levels up, there will be no trigger event : add hired unit to builidng. so maybe we use a marketplace, and items, since in the ft (or is it we unlim?) it has an event : give item to marketplace. iono just some thoughts. |

i was thinking maybe have an item, or press esc, that it would create the building(don't get too caught up on the fact that it is a building, it could be a unit) right next to our hero. From this building then the hero could purchase for free the items that he has already acquired. I don't want to open the WE right now, but i am pretty sure that either with the GUI editor or JASS we can determine which items the building will sell to the hero. Then when the hero gets too far away from the inventory, it simply dissappears. Phantasydreamer, i noticed your work in the terraining clan thread. I really like it. Would you like to be the terrainer for this project? |
