gmax, bones, and poly count

Okay, apparantly my bones are contributing 350ish polys to a model of mine, do these actually affect the ingame polygon?

Without the bones, my to-be-hero model is a little shy of a thousand... still too many, I know, but before I start cutting down I need to know if bone polys will actually hurt the model ingame..

Bones are irrelevant regarding polycount, same applies to collision spheres. Only actual meshes that has a skin on it are counted towards polycount.

Ignore bone and collision box/spheres when counting poly's and you should be fine
