I changed the sound-set of the Paladin so that it uses some of the sounds of Starcraft's Marines. I wanted to changed the sound of their attack to the sound of an M60 Chaingun. Well, I changed the sound, and tried him out. It worked pretty good. Then, when I changed his model to a Marine, he no longer sounded like he was using an M60, but using a Terran Gauss Rifle again. I also tried to change the Swordsman to a Marine using the edited Paladin soundset. The result was an attack who's sound was a mix of a Gauss Rifle and a sword. I also tried to change the attack sound of a Rifleman to the sound of an M9 Pistol, and that worked fine. Its just the Marine and Sword sounds I need to fix. Any suggestions? Thanks in Advance. -KillR |

maybe the marine's attack sound is uhh..... built in to him. or maybe when you changed the model, you messed up a trigger... i dunno, probably not, did you double check everything? |

I think sounds are stuck to units or something. I'm not sure - I read something along those lines somewhere on this forum. Check with some tech guy who knows the game a great deal. |

Alright, so I was able to fix the sound. Here's how: Marine attack is actually Gyrocopter attack, so I changed both of those to the M60 Chaingun sound. About the sword sound, there's a setting under the Edit Unit Properties thing that determines what sound to play when a unit is hit. I changed it to none, and therefore fixed the problem. The real problem now is that I can't seem to be able to delete or fix the sounds that I replace. Is this normal in WorldEdit? Cause I already had to spend an hour to copy and paste everytrhing over to a new map. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. -KillR |
