I have used 3DS Max 4.2 and the Art Tools to make a staff model. Basically, it is a long box with a sphere on the top. The model showed perfectly in Warcraft 3 when I imported it. The model has no animation because it is an icon. Then, I created a 3 second particle emmiter in the sphere on the top of the staff. It is a 180 degree emmiter using one of Warcraft 3's textures. When I previewed the model, it worked fine, and the emmiter looped. But when I placed it in a map I started having problems. I imported it, and set the Peasant's model to it. In WE, I could see the model, but without the emitter. When I ran the map, the units didn't show, but their shadows were visible. Then I used a trigger to attach the staff to a heros hand. I think that I saw the staff with the emmiter for a milisecond, but I can't be sure. Could someone help me? |

Guest | you have to import it first correctly if you test it ingame. Hence the model shadows because you didnt import it at all. Regarding the emitter, you must have done a visiility intprt error regarding animation? |

I used the import manager. I saved the map. I closed WE. I reloaded WE. I tested the map. It didn't show. My model doesn't have animation because its only an item. Is that the problem? In the Warcraft 3 Test tool, it looped fine. Do I need to add a stand animation to get it to work? |

Guest | you can post the mdl here =P anyways, apparantly maybe with visibility tags it went wrong, same applies to the animation. I suggest creating a stand, death and birth anim always if it is a item model Post mdl here and Ill see whats wrong (upload it somewhere) |
