To change a model's skin, I tried to change the skin path name in the MDX file. I used WIII file converter to convert the MDX into MDL, opened the MDL with notepad and changed the skin. But notepad won't save files as MDL but as txt, and file converter doesn't support txt files. How can I find a program that would turn txt to MDL ? I also have and error when I quit file extractor. It says (translated from French to English) : The instruction "0x00433846" is using the memory adress "0x032400b0". The memory cannot be read. Click"OK" to quit the program." Is this a major problem, and can it be related with my problems with txt ? Pleaaaase help me ! |

its kinda simple, save the file as " all files" and put .mdl at the end of the filename :D -Andy- |

I had tried it before, but Windows XP didn't let me change the txt to mdl because of the default way it displays file information (see attached pict). I have found a way to modify the way those informations are displaid and it works. Thanks for your help. |

Guest | well, what he meant to say is to open the txt file, and under menu choose save as. Then you can go choose between regular txt or blanco . Choose Blanco and save the file as name.mdl thats all =) there are countless of problems that might occur in the mdl btw, so its pointless to ask whats wrong without showingit small note though: to my knowledge the mdl generated from the max studio with art tools cannot be converted with the wc3 file converter ...at least that are my findings... |

does it work if you export as .mdx, and then convert to mdl using one of those converter programs, and then convert back to .mdx? just a thought.... |
