Ok. lately im sure some of you have seen my huge post. Now i have no use of all these points they generated, so i am willing to create a Contest. You have to create a new Triggered Spell. The due date is set for December 20. if the date needs adjusting let me know. I jsut wanted to set a saturday. Now i was wondering if there should be point submissions. The rules area as follows. Entrance Fee- 20 Points New idea, cannot be a take-off of another move. You can recreate a ability from another game. EX. Diablo No skins or models allowed Can only use what the NORMAL WE provides. Must provide EXP and Gold. Must have 3 levels here is the catch about GUI and JASS. There will be 2 separate contests. One for Jass and one for GUI. Mainly because i think we all know that JASS will own all in this. So... GUI contest: 100 Points(guaranteed) May increase JASS Contest: 150 Points(Guaranteed) May increase The point of this is that i want to see what others are capapable of doing. I would like to learn from them too have more understading with a few elements. If i missed something or need to explain more. At tewnty points an entry+the points this thread will generate it looks like your gona make more of a profit out of this than us, but who cares? It will be quite hard to judge, maybe you should have catagories? Prettiest/Most Advanced/Most Original/Most Usefull etc Imo the due date shuld be at least a week from now, to give people enough time and let everyone know. |

I wouldn't reccomend people posting submissions because others could just steal thier work. You also have no guidelines for the contest. |

at first I thought you stole my idea... I was wrong... You stole the WMC® idea. Anyway, I could seriously need some points... I am great at GUI, it is just what I do... I am great at pretty spells, so I think I might get some points. Unfortunetly, my computer with all my Warcraft stuff aint here, so I cant whip up a spell that I already made for you right here. Il do it in da mornin. 1 question: Will there be 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th place prizes? If so, I definitely will make some new spells to whip in! I am on a VERY bad budget here (points) and can only send in one map without going bankrupt. 2nd question: Will I get credit for sending in one map fullof a lot of spells, or do I have to make them seperate. I am hoping I can send them seperate, but not have to do multiple (expensive) entry fees. Thats all. |

OK it was late so i couldnt type alot here is a more in depth explaination. There will be 4 catagories each worth 5 points for a total of 20 Appearance-How smooth the Spell goes and the graphical images Advancedosity- HOw complex or cool looking so to say your spell looks Originality- Well if the move has been done before... Daily Use- Will you even use this spell if you could? Yes you are right. The date will be set to NEXT saturday. Thats the 20th. Now those 20 points i will keep a record of in my handbook thingy i have. And they will be added to the winnings. So just send them to me and ill add them to the pot. There will be 1st 2nd and 3rd places. 1st Place-60% of winnings 2nd Place-25% of winnings 3rd Place- 15% of winnings If there is ever a tie, then i will put out the maps for a Peer vote. And it has been said. Send all your maps with the points to me. PM. This is to aviod stealers. You may enter multiple times but at the cost of another 20 points. If you are positive you can win, and you are short on cash like 5 points. Just let me know and ill give you 5 points to enter. I wont go over 10 though. You have to have SOME amount of points. When you send me your map, tell me which contest its in. JASS or GUI. And tell me The name of the spell. Have i missed anything? I dont think so... |

Tell the users to include a link to their map in the message of the point donation for the entry fee. Also increase the time (people won't submit their spells so fast) |

Meaning? If you mean can you take ideas from other games or books then yes. But i wouldnt advise re creating say Firewall, its alredy been done. |

Question - Does using the Custom Script line event in GUI mean I have to enter the JASS contest. Also, can I enter several spells in each? |

OK, Custom Script is a yes. Just dont do the whole trigger for. Becuz you need to use custom script to make the spells have levels! You may sumbit multiple spells, but you may only recive winnings for one. Meaning you submit the spells, pick your best one out of those few. Get it? Say you sumbit Fire Blast and Ice Blast, Fire looks cooler so i would choose that one. The one that would have a better chance of winning. |

i can make some really cool spell but 3 lvl's and exp... thats to much work... i would join the contest if it wasnt for those two things above.. |
