Modeling with GMax

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to make MDX models with g-max, because I've just downloaded it, and it doesn't seem to be possible. Are there any plugins needed, or an MDX->3ds converter? And would I be able to animate with it? Thanks.

Gmax... Well Blizzard will implement it later.... because they made a 3DSMAX>WC3 file. So just nag them and you will have your wish.

And I think MAXSCRIPTS work the same way in 3DSMX as in GMAX. I love GMAX because its free but it has LESS tools than the original file. This may sound obvious, but download it from Kazaa........

they wont make the art tools compatible with Gmax, and u wont get it by nagging them, tho you can use republicolas script to export, and KMK's maxscript to import

I be working ON Gmax for quiet some time.
Here's some questions:

-WTF is a nurb?
-WTF is a ribbon?

And.... tell me in detail why not Gmax.
Yes I know that it doesn't have some functions - but it can still make buildings and such that are still.... or doodads.

Gmax CAN export anims, u just need DEX and a nurb is an advanced spline, read like a geometric object only a spline, and a ribbon is where, in war3 u get things trailing behind missiles and whatnot, it is the streamer looking thing that make it look like its moving

Thank you for your reply. This really helped me. But I'm still gonna start easy and make buildings like pyramids and trees for my mod.


It is unfortunate all the 3dstudio max books that show you how to make things like human faces 3 dimensionally can be found on the internet. 25 dollars.... or a click.... Well I'm going to download KMK and Republicola.....
