Just curious, what type of modelling do you guys mostely use?

i voted box because thats how i start out, but i use some of it all while putting it all together, some of the ways work better for what your doing

S-D and Box, in 3dsMax it is easier to Box model than spline model, because, often, spline modelling takes you over the poly limit

IMO, box are for mech's / space stuff. BoxModelling are sharped edges, unless you box modeled a character, and you smoothed it.

I picked sub division.

i model with boxes which when in max turns them into triangles...
thats the way blizzard does theirs so thats the way i do mine

I usually use boxes, but then again I don't do alot of moddeling. mostly I just edit models

Box, thats how you are suppose to make Low poly models.
If you look closer, all (or maybe most) models in WC3 are boxy in some way.

I use box for WC3, but I use other methods for different games. I've used all these techniques at least once

Box modeling is the smartest thing for all games, just box model the body, and if u have a huge amount of polys to spare, model each article of clothing. It's not smart to model every single part of the body seperatly, because that's only good for hi-res stuff. I guess spline modeling is ok, as long as your limit is over 1500 polys.... but for GAMES, box model all the way, i even use it for hi-res stuff

i usually just start out with an idea of what i want and use a basic shape that looks like wut i want like a box or sphere or somethin and then convert to editable poly or mesh and customiz the $*** outta it to make it look like wut i want.
