I am assuming you mean custom models, skins, etc for maps, correct?

If so, you can't, it either has to be in the mpq or in the map, irritating for testing I know :(

1. Click Start, then Run
2. Type REGEDIT, then push OK.
3. Open the folder HKEY_LOCAL_USER.
4. Open the folder Software.
5. Open the folder Blizzard Entertainment.
6. Open the folder WarCraft III
7. Select Edit->New->DWORD Value
8. Name it Allow Local Files
9. Right Click the DWORD Value and chose modify.
10. Change the Value to 1.

Note that I am not responsible if you destroy your registry.

After you do this, you'll wonder how you ever lived without it.

EDIT: Gibberish, this is entirely possible.
