Happy holidays all. I plan on hosting a tournament starting soon. If you are interested please post here. They are three groups I'm looking for, spectators, judges and players. The spectators must deposit 50 points, this is just a small fee to reserve a seat. After the tourney you can get your 50 points back or add it directly to the pot. Spectators can watch any game they chose. But are asked to watch the preliminary matches. The judges must deposit 100 points. The fee is here so that you don't just ignore your responsibility. If you don't judge the game you were asked to, you forfiet the 100 points. After the tourney you will be reimbursed and then some (depending on how much excess remains). The judge mainly watches the game to check for no abhorent cheating, and saving replays! Players: 100 Points for a standard seat. A standard seat means you are not directly in the exhibition top 16. (12 places come from this group) Priorty Seating: 200 points for a chance seat. For those who simply don't want to play a few matches without a chance of getting in, or are better at FFA. You can pay more for better odds, you will play in an ffa with other member from this group for a chance to win one of two seats. (Only six can buy chance seats, only two enter the tourney). 500 point direct seat. No questions asked the first two to buy these seats enter the tourney as chair 8 and 16. Pot cut: The first place winner will recieve 70% of the pot, the second place winner will recieve 20% of the pot, while the other two who reached the semi finals will recieve 5% of the pot each. If the first place winner does not walk out with 2000 points I will donate the difference to him. Edit heres the current status: Current Pot at 2200 points. Number of entreants: 6 --Normal player:5 --Number of Ds: 0 --Number of CS:1 Number of spectators: 2 Number of Judges: 1 First place prize held at 2000 pts. Current Players: Judges: Pheonix-IV Spectators: Auisrage2k Challis Normal Entreants: Buttink Mandrilx MaabyTTk Demanufacture Tariq Chance Seat: Tiki Direct Seat: -- |

More information on jobs. Its come to my attention that Players will get a better advantage with lag as being a host of games. Spectators and judges now are required to create the games to try to make this as fair as possible. |

will this tournament be on TFT and what day? |

this sucks. what about us players who hate the point system and therefore cannot donate the required points to enter? |

You can ask Draco for a loan I think as he is the bank. Or ask a friend to sponsor you. As far as TFT, I think it has to be. I'll hold off on exact date until we get more players to join. If 1.13 is released, I may have to postpone it a bit further. Xoom, I'm not a fan of the point system either, but I see it as a good reward instead of just a plain for fun tournament. The cost is relatively low, and the reward potential is quite exuberent. (At the minimal first place prize cap of 2000, you win 20 times as much as you put in.) |

We demand a 2vs2 class. Can you do something about this? Sure make this pot smaller but do one plz. |

I'd like to do a simple 1 on 1 because its easier to monitor. And war3 is more balanced in 1v1. And theres less that can go wrong. (No one can backstab in 1 on 1, if somebody drops its thier fault they can't blame the loss on thier ally dropping)... I'll consider making the pre-tournament rounds 2v2s. |

yeah, team games are a good idea, also can you put up a leaderboard saying who is what? Also unless the lag is really really bad, players in a melee game wont get much of an advantage at all. |

If anyone would like to join as a co-runner of this tourney to help me out that'd be cool too. I'm still sitting by 1 on 1 format, unless the demand is so overwhelming. A leaderboard will be made as soon as we get done with the pre-tourney matches. It'd look like sort of like this only fancier Code:
P01-\ P01: Normal Entreant 01
QF1-\ P02: Normal Entreant 02
P02-/ \ P03: Normal Entreant 03
SF1-\ P04: Chance Seat 1
P03-\ / \ P05: Normal Entreant 05

i'll be a co-runner if you want, how can i help? |
| 12-14-2003, 01:42 AM | #14 |
Hey Wea, once you get the whole thing underway, you can make a bracket here. OR... I can make you a bracket in photoshop and update it as needed. (I'm shooting for the latter, as I want to help, but can't do anything in war3 itself) |
| 12-14-2003, 02:29 AM | #15 |
Hey Wea, I made a bracket template, I will add the names (If you want to use this of course) as they are given to me. I can also change the background color to whatever you want it to be. Regards, DoCa |
