My map is going through some weird phases. I have seen this happen to almost all my maps. What it is though; I load the map editor and for a very long time no matter how much stuff I cram into my map it doesnt lag when I place units. Then all of the sudden just yesterday my map starts lagging ALOT when I try to place or move anything. Can anyone help me on this? If you can actually tell me how to fix this bug you will get a nice 30 points into your virtual pocket =) |

Its because you put so much other stuff like trees terran dodads and so on. Its lags because units are diffrent from other stuff liek trees. |

Oh no no no, you see I have crammed it with EVERYTHING. That means trees and nice looking terrain too. It hasn't gradually lagged out is what im getting at; it happened all at once a few days ago when I opened my editor. I had already placed the stuff on the map and there was no problem in lag. |

I think WorldEdit has an issue with certain graphics drivers - I think I have the same problem you're talking about, but it never surfaced before I upgraded to DirectX 9. A weird quirk I've found is that if you minimize the WorldEdit main window, then maximize it again, the lag goes away temporarily. Also, if I keep the window non-maximized and fairly small on the screen, it doesn't jerk as much. |

That happens to me on my new, blisteringly fast computer. And minimizing and maximizing works, I've been doing it for ages. It must be a specific problem, because I can edit the map on my two year old computer with no lag at all, and the same performance options. I really would like a way to fix it that is better than the minimize-maximize method. |

Do you have any preplaced units ON the start points? If so, move them off, or move the start point a little bit. Then save and re-open the map, its a known bug that WorldEdit can suddenly start lagging if you have units on start points. |

Ah thanks AllPainful.... It doesnt remove all the lag but it sure helps. 15 pts to you! |
