This map was originally started for the Wc3c map contest, but we aren't going to be able to finish it time, so now its not going to be for the contest. I just thought Id release a small gameplay demo. Its going to be a Metal Gear Solid style game, and this demo isnt quite complete, there will eventually be more weapons and stuff, such as the cardboard box and remote explosives, as well as some other things. Current weapons; Melee Attack Machine Gun Shotgun Rocket Launcher Flamethrower Sticky Camera The controls; Arrow keys - Move Q - Toggle walk\run W - Make noise to attract\distract guards A - Melee attack Weapon controls are explained in game. Tell me any comments, complaints, or suggestions, and keep in mind this isnt a final version. Team; Triggering\Game Engine - Mikedogdude aka Me Terrain\Cinematics - Rust3d Skins - Mock1 Models - Gurubvin And feel free to rate this so as to get me points because I'm poor. |

TFT crashes when I select it. Have you heavylocked it? Sometimes it bugs the map this way. Add a few useless lines of comments to your map, then resave and relock it. Usually this resolves the problem (dunno why). |

Well, that's progress, now instead of crashing the menu retracts up like it's going to load... but then it just comes back down. Again, I've experienced this bug with heavy lock before. Make sure you're using the latest version from the tools forum, insert a few more useless lines, and try again. Also test yourself the protected version before posting again ;) |

That ran fairly smooth but if the enemies could detect attack noise it would be even better, or the cardboard boxes/Alarm meter, Either way, it was fun. A few suggestions. -Have the classic MGS Wall-hugging. -A stealth Meter? -Patorilling Gaurds and the ! to appear over their head when they spot you.. -THE CARDBOARD BOX! -Multiple Characters? (Raiden, Snake, Solidus, Liquid) -Actual Metal Gear Solid Weapons. This Link lists those of Metal Gear Solid 1 and 2 -Again, Have Enemies Respond to Bullet being fired. -Perhaps a Radar system (It would be difficult, but good to have) -First person view Aiming (Like Metal Gear solid 2) -Holding up the enemy. |

awsome thx for the comments, and the enemies do respond, if u notice alot come once u start shooting, and i love the idea of the cardboard box...i might add that this is just a demo, and will be further made. also we are not tryin to make mgs, thats just the type of gameplay. also you think u could post a link to this so more can notice it |

I think it would make a good hosted map, but multiplayer MGS style would own. Especailly if you couldn't detect your enemy via radar. It would be interesting if the camera followed from behind (Like MGS) but smoothing that would be hard, or you could have cameras set for each area that stay in one place, But the 'enemies noticing shots' refernce was the fact i shot the wall behind my foe and he didn't react, there should be some kind of noise sensor. |

ya ok, and when i said i like the idea of the cardboard box, i actually ment stealth meter, and i was just thinkin the whole camera behind would be better....i think sooon we will be looking for more people to help out, u seem interested what u good at? |

Skins and i can do some triggers, I'm also a fan of Stealth games, Metal Gear in paticulaur. And the stealth meter is from Splinter Cell. |

Ive already started a cardboard box. Its in that map, but its currently disabled, because there are still some bugs. Wall hugging would be nice, but I have no idea how you would do it (the detection of the wall) besides using the method I used on the bullets, but that would seriously lag the game to run constantly. The stealth meter I may do, but probobly only if I add lighting or something so you could hide in the shadows. The ! and a ? will be added later. There may be multiple characters depending on the story, which is about to be revised (I think). They should respond to bullets, but again, this isnt done and there are some bugs. A first person weapon, such as a sniper rifle, may be added. The shotgun is getting removed so we havent decided what to put in it's place, either a sniper rifle, or some form of high powered energy based weapon that can fire through walls or something. And there is sound detection, but this still isnt finished and it needs to be tweaked. And this isn't Metal Gear Solid; the gameplay is just based off of that and other similar games. And what do you think about the current camera? Should it have a bigger angle of attack, or be zoomed out more or whatever? I havent decided how it should be yet. Thanks for the comments. Oh, and there probobly wont be multiplayer until after the project is done if at all. |

Well First person view would be nice, Since you cannot see what is in front of your character (IE enemies/items) withouit moving to that area, Which is a Pain in the ***. Also, Grenades would be cool or molotov cocktails. |

Sticky cameras are for getting better sight, like down hallways, but I may zoom the camera out or tilt it some or both so you can see better. Also, I would put in a grenade, but it is just too difficult to detect wall collision and make it reflect off of things and bounce and stuff, thats what the rocket launcher is for. There will be a remote C4 added later. Um.. Why was this moved to the Trigger Repository? This isnt made for other people to take my idea or my engine or copy my triggers. |

ya we want people to try this and see the map, not take our code |
