Vampire Lord Skin

Are you tired of seeing the same old dread lords as vampires?

Do you wish there was a more human model to use, that still got that vampiry feeling across?

Well, this is probably not the best possible solution: Hell, it's probably not even good! Still, I'm offering you one vampire skin for the Blood Mage, for nothing! That's right, it's free for download.

I'm going to attach a screen shot here: To download the skin, simply get my map from this post, and extract it.

... recolor+and minor add-ons, plus i guess alot of ppl already made a vamp from a blood mage...
do a free-hand job, start from scratch, even the face, it isnt difficult at all...

ok it looks good anyway... so i will give it a 7/10

dont put blood drooling down his face if hes not feeding. It would like kinda stupid for him to just be walking around, and talking, and drooling blood everywhere

All right, I'm not one to completely ignore suggestions and criticism. So, I though to myself: Maybe I could do it, you know, by hand? Instead of recoloring and removing some fancy stuff from the armor?

Said and done, I got to work.

About halfway through the same vampire with different clothes, I found that my vampire reminded me of something. After a bit of thinking, I realized that he didn't look completely unlike Alucard, from the 'Hellsing' anime. So I decided I might as well make the whole thing an Alucard skin.

While an uncooperative cloak decided it didn't want to be alphafied into a coat, other than that, everything went pretty well.

(On an interesting note, the blood mage attack animations would look *perfect* if one attached a gun to the right hand.)

So, here's the first screenshot of my New and Improved Vampire wip: Alucard!

The face is still a modified blood mage face, and the cloak is recolored. Other than that, it's pretty much 100% custom.

Comments and suggestions are appreciated, even if they're completely negative.

redo the face from scratch, give more details, shade more... -_-" =P
and give it eyebrows... not vampire, he looks too human in that skin tone... do everything from scratch, even the face, get it?

Lol, nice Alucard :ggani:
As someone said, more shading and detail needed, everything below his neck looks crap atm. I don't think you have to completly redo his face, just give him some real features, like eyebrows, for example...

Anyone wanna slap together a simple 10-polygon gun model and attach it to him, just for giggles? ^^

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my problem. I can make recolors, edits and cnp's look good: I can't make original skins look good.

The only thing alfredx's suggestions would do is make it look like crap above the shoulders, as well.

Anyway, it's now officially abandoned: Unless I manage to learn model editing, there's a huge hole in is back when alphaing out one of the things sticking up behind his head.

I think a good idea is to work with a picture of the original skin ready. That way you can reference the kind of shading that the original has. All you have to do is shade your own skin till it has a similar feeling of depth and it should look fine.

Myself i keep the original .tga untouched in photoshop as my background layer. Any changes i make i make in additional layers so if i wanna check what the original looked like i just hide the layer that im working on and it reveals the original.
