Why is it that the Warcraft 3 Campaigns community frowns upon it so much? If it makes the skin better, whats the problem? Please tell me whether you do or don't have a problem with it. |

well even though your a mod i think you should close this to avoid a flame war..... i have nothning against cnp, sometimes cnp looks good, its when you cnp one part and put in on the other. MY conclusion: Cnp is good only when you cnp from multiple sources, and if you edit it a bit. |

i support it if it turns out good. If it is from other peoples work then its bad. I mean it is a form of art itself. I think mainly skinners get pissed off at CnPers. Other people dont really care. |

I guess CNPing is an easy way of making something look good. But it isn't always easy to make it look good, as you have to think about shape, angle, colour and size. However, what people overlook is that anything other than making a skin from scratch is really just editing someone else's work, whether is be recolour or CNP. So many people take the standard Blizzard-made skin, and just change some colour and/or edit a few bits. Sure, it may look good and server a puspose, but its not exactly new. |

The problem is, most people look at it as art at the front, but if they stopped to look and think for awhile, it isn't art, its to customize your game to make it look better and more professional. If you were an artist who made things like concept art, fan art, etc, you probably wouldn't want someone stealing your stuff would you? I guess thats how most people look at it, even though the two aren't really related at all. Skins aren't really art, they are a customization of a game. In fact, I like C'n'P for certain things, like... if I want a skin for X on something else, just C'n'P it all... me no really care. |

No... skinning is definately an art. It's only when people say "i made this skin" and they really just copied someone elses work when I have a problem with it. |

But they made the textures that they made... so that is fine. Edit: Who voted for "I have a problem with cnp"? Just wondering cause I was the other person... |

Guest | cnp is used by this site's former generation. kdewolf, pencilgod and more publicly maverick2000. pencilgod now admits, kdewolf somewhat. |

I CNP my own work across skins. I mean afterall, it is my own work, so there's no problem with reusing it. I keep parts in a clip art archive that I can use across new skins. |

I like to CnP sometimes. Right now I am makeing a Headhunter with snow cammo pants. He looks really good in them. I CnP them but edited it to make it look more cell-shaded other than looking like obveous CnP. |
