what's this error message mean? (not about UMSWE)

the error msg that comes up when i open my map (new with patch) is: Referencing unknown database field: 'selSize' (Units/ItemData)

all i've done with items is change the gold cost, restock times, and tooltips. the map still runs.

anyone know what this is probably about? should i just ignore it?

I'v been getting it as well. Hasn't seemed to have affected anything within the map/ in-game so I'm not horribly worried about it.

I had the same problem with my map (which I had been using WEU to edit.) Since I patched to 1.13, I decided it was somewhat pointless to continue using WEU since my current project has no need to use the differences between WEU and the regular WE now.

When I loaded my map in the regular 1.13 WE, I got that same error, but my map wouldn't load (which is why I tried to do something about it.) What I ended up doing was removing all the imported files associated with WEU from the import manager, leaving any stuff I knew wasn't affected by WEU, and uninstalled WEU afterwards.

Then I resaved my map (got a bunch of trigger errors), re-enabled all my triggers, saved again, and it works fine.

No idea if that was any fix or just dumb luck, but thought I'd add my two cents.

I'm also getting that reference error thing when I load my map, although I'm not sure if its been a problem yet.

Also, what is this WEU stuff? World Editor Unpatched?

And is WE automatically patched to 1.13 when you get the 1.13 on bnet?

WEU is World Editor Unlimited, a great editor made by PitzerMike. But, like UMSWE, the patch made maps that contain a few of its extra features not work. Most of them still do, though.

You say that you get an error, but nothing is wrong when you play the map? Strange. If you did use UMSWE, even for just editing objects, then that is probably the cause of your problem. Or it could just be that a few maps just don't open properly in 1.13 WE.

Ah sorry, WEU = World Editor Unlimited, a similar program to UMSWE, just a few minor differences. And yes, WE is automatically patched for you once you run the patch program (via B.net or otherwise).

one more question:

UMSWE is the default WE right?

*Rofls*...

No.

First of all, there's two 'real' editors that runs off the regular WE. They're called UMSWE and WEU. UMSWE was created by scio back when umsmaps.com was still alive. Today it's worked on by several people and they are patching it to the new blizz-patch so we're awaiting their work.

Whenever you hear "WE", it's the regular WE until someone says something else.
