New Names

Lizardman is now renamed to Swamp Dwellers because some *FOOLS* in games workshop could not accept that we have same names as them! We have no longer Skink, Saurus, Kroxicors. Only Snotlings survived all this chances.

I don`t remember all the new names but I`m shure Rightfield will give more informasion later.

Yes, we know, but we just had anough of all the whiners, lamers, flamers, retards, antholes and other foo-ers. It's not only because of that, cause now the mod is becoming more and more independant of other worlds, it's a whole new universe now. :yup:

DAMN THOSE GAMES WORKSHOP WORSHIPPERS!!!!! How in the hell can you copyright the word "Lizardman?" Its used by everyone and this is like the only mod getting punished for it. I hope those dumbasses are happy cause they're are about to get their lips smacked off.

How would you feel if someone started another mod called "New modded races" and a team called "Raviginion people" and units like "zanmotos" and "northern druids"?

I'm glad GW did that. NRM made me angry the moment they decided not to be a warhammer mod (but kept all the names :nono: )

Lizardmen are in Dungeons And Dragons, which is a whole lot older than anything Games Workshop made.

I don't think it's possible to copyright something as rawly descriptive as "Lizard Men" maybe it MIGHT be possible to copyright making it a single word "Lizardmen", but I'm not even sure of that.

I like Games Workshop's products a lot, have never been able to afford to purchase them though. I think it's kind of funny that people would complain about people ripping off Games Workshop, since 90% of the Warhammer universe is ripped off of Dungeons and Dragons. (The fact that their Dwarves are identical in all respects, right down to loving alcohol, and being partially immune to magic, and not using any themselves is a really good example). I wouldn't be putting Games Workshop and "originality" in the same sentance too quickly.

Keep in mind that despite this fact, I am a fan of the Warhammer universe. It's hard to go wrong when ripping off D&D.

Seriously, the only real reason why we changed the names is just because we wanted this mod to be more independant of other fantasy worlds, not because GW threatened to sue us, the closest to that were just the raging GW zealots who flamed our mod.

Actually the same Skink isn't copyrighted at all you idiot. You probably don't know what a skink even is! You know those small lizards? The real ones? That's skinks. And here's the guy speaking of our "bad english". Owned.

Also I'm sure you're one of those bastards supporting lawsuit idiots who's only concern is money. Now do you really think our mod affect their sales? Hell no, there is absoultly NO reason for them to have such laws about their trademarks. People concerned about such things are just greedy idiots who'd be better off on the bottom of an ocean. Also, the ideas wasn't really theirs in the first place. They took it from various mythology from around the world so in fact they shouldn't be able to copyright it at all, since the idea wasn't theirs in the first place. Also they have copyrighted the name "Ork" but not Orc. Now this is stupid. We all know that it was Tolkien who invented the Orc/Orks and changing their name shouldn't make any diffrence when trying to copyright the name. NRM was never a warhammer mod in the first place. It has never been! How many times must I say that it uses ideas and concepts from many places and not only GW ones. But some people like you don't know how to read (*cough*bad english*cough*) and doesn't notice thise even if it HAS been said hundreds of times!

Anyway, this is a loss for Games Workshop not for us. They lose free advertising. We only have to rename a couple of units. Something which is simple work indeed. And you warhammer people, ha ha ha. I will STILL use my slann king model cause i've made it myself and they don't have the right to claim such things at all. Everyone gets inspiration from somewhere, even Games Workshop did. And there is no law about not allowing me to make things that look similiar.. as long as i don't sell it. Which I don't. We do this without getting payed, use many hours and days on making mods like this and all you can do is complain! If you don't like it then fine, go hump a tree or something but DON'T try to make things more difficult for us. This is the spirit of those cruel people who make viruses. Wanna be one of those ehh?

If games workshop want to be a group of people doing stuff for fun and not a couple of greedy idiots, this is not the way to do things.

In fact i'm think of adding a bonus map, tower defense. Wc3c vs Lawsuit idiots. :P

I agree that game workshop has rippen 99% of its stuff from older things,D&D,Mythology,Tolkiens world,and they are just plain dipshits with theyre fanatics,how can they copyright lizardmen or orc?as well they may copyright human and dwarf while theyre at it.This means that game workshop's fanatics should go **** emselves in a dark corner and never come out of there

Well this might be a swtupid answer but do u guys Really have to change it? i didnt bother reading this thread (except when RF PWNED Perethor), but did they file a lawsuit against you guys? do u guys really have to change? Why not piss them off and not change it?
