Hey guys, I'm getting near the end of finishing my current project, so I started to think of any new projects. I came up with this, it's sort of a cross between Vampire Hunters and Sheep Tag. Map Name: El Chupacabra. Story: On the island of Puerto Rico, there is a new legend. Some predict that it will be bigger than bigfoot and the loch ness monster. It is, El Chupacabra, the goatsucker. More info on El Chupacabra: http://www.oftm.com/chupa.html http://paranormal.about.com/cs/chupacabra/ Players: 1 (or 2) El Chupacabra(s). 4-8 Farmers Objective: The Farmers must kill the Chupacabra by a certain period of time. Because El Chupacabra can kill a farmer with relative ease (may have 25% hp left), farmers must stick together and use teamwork to kill El Chupacabra. Each Farmer has their own homestead, complete with livestock. Approximately every 20 seconds or so, a peice of livestock will appear in a farmer's homestead to sell. If a farmer wants to make money to upgrade their weapons or buy items to help destroy El Chupacabra, they must successfully bring their livestock to "town" (in the certer of the map) and sell them there. However, it's quite a hike to town, so farmers must protect their defenseless livestock from El Chupacabra. Farmers can also upgrade weapons and buy items in town. Farmes can also purchace hunting dogs to track El Chupacabra (more on that later). Towns will be protected by towers so that El Chupacabra cannot enter town. El Chupacabra(s) must stay alive for a certain period of time. To do this, they'll need to run from groups of hunters, kill individual hunters, and kill livestock. Killing livestock gives El Chupacabra hp and experience to get better skills. El Chupacabra has the following abilities. Fly - Allows El Chupacabra to escape danger, but unable to attack Stealth - El Chupacabra turns invisable, but his movement speed is decreased. Lasts for only a short period of time, enough to, say, run from a hunter. Hunting dogs can spot chupacabras in this state. Chupacabra Frenzy - Gives the chupacabra increased movement and attack speed. (works like an aura) Whatcha guys think? |

That's a really weird, but at the same time, cool idea. I like it, and I can see it becoming as popular as sheep tag if it's done well. I'd be willing to help if you need someone. But I have a few questions... Can the farmers control the movement of their livestock? or are the livestock just automatically sent in a line towards town when the farm requests it? What exactly can the farmer do? build towers? research defenses and stuff? can he hire merceneries or hunters? And the El Chupacabra, does he/she have any use for gold? does it even gain gold? etc. |

Probably the former. It'll give the livestock more of a realistic AI. If livestock is attacked by El Chupacabra, they'd probably run in real life, so they should run in this game too. Albiet very slowly though. Quote:
I was thinking of first starting out as a "Farmer with Shotgun", using the rifleman skin. As the farmer obtains gold, they can purchase things such as spider mines and other items from town. They might also be able to go to the weapon shop and change their weapon. So far I was thinking maybe using the marine skin and giving the farmer an m4. That would of course require quite a bit of cash though. They should definately be able to hire hunting dogs as well. It could give them a physical advantage over el chupacabra by purchasing them, as well as using them as scouts to see el chupacabra while he's invisable. Hunting dogs may not have as good of an attack as the farmer, but they could be very useful with their increased sight range and sniffing abilities. Quote:
This is something I'm wondering too truth be told. I'm trying to decide whether El Chupacabra can be self-sufficient on it's own through experience, or whether gold could be needed. I'm definately open for suggestions in this area. |
