Um, hi. This message is really for all mods/admins and anyone with the power to close a topic. Can you please post about what's wrong with a given topic before you lock it? Half the time I see these closed topics which, for no reason I can descern, just suddenly lock. It'd make it so everyone knew exactly what not to post. |

Good idea. I just did the site forum, but it kinda loks like all the recent threads were all closed. Oh well. Moderators should leave a reason for closing threads. :D |

Actually, certain very stupid people, like fragmentation, think its a mod going on a power when you close a thread and leave a comment afterwords. Oh and it leads to people hating you, if you so much as don't cross your t and dot your i, because they think your being arrogant and leaving a clever remark that they can't respond to. Just thought I'd tell you why some of have stopped doing it. |

I acually agree with the mods with the topics recently, there have been alot of stupid threads. The warcraft discussion forum is a good example with "What do you think of Orcs?" and "Your fav race" etc its just getting out of controal |

Actually, I did NOT close all those threads. I just added a comment to describe why it may have been closed. |

It is something of a conflicting issue. I remember when I was a lowly forum-goer that I used to get very annoyed when a topic was closed with a comment. But now that I'm a mod I can see it a little differently. As has been said before, everyone wants to know why a topic is closed. I always leave a message before I use any moderator power. But I can see that it makes people angry, especially the people who liked the thread, that they cannot argue with you. In short, I think we all need to remember the PM button. |

In fact, A moderator can just edit the last post saying what made him to close the thread, since posting there will bump the thread. |

I concur with Tech, he always leaves a note when he closes a thread, and I have never seen him close a thread for no good reason. -Peace ez |
