U can extract .mdx files with War3 viewer or Winmpq. Use the attached program to convert .mdx to .obj and import the created .obj file into wings3d and u can edit it. |

Thanks. Anyway, when i install the needed video files for Win mpq it uninstalls wc3! Ah well, i have to try anyway. Edited because: Nevermind, i got it to work. 2 Questions though. What can i edit when i have the model in wings? Can i do whatever i want? Like delete and create things? Also, can i edit the model while the skin is on so i see what i do? In wings3d that is.. [EDIT2] How do i get it back ingame then after i edited it???[/EDIT2] |

Here is a good tutorial by Rightfield about the basic. http://race.wc3campaigns.com/tutorial.htm It is for 3ds max but should work with Wings3d too. How to put the skin on the model in wings is something that cannot be done. How to get the model back to game is explained in the tutorial too. U'll need a program that can convert to .mdx. Export ur model in .obj and use the attached program to convert the .obj to .mdx then follow the steps in the tutorial. |
