err yea I know I cant spell, but this is what I mean. I have 3 units, one that is on the ground a a target, one on the ground as an attacker and one in the air as an attaker, see diagram

......................0 air unit
...................../.l
.................../...l
................./.....l
.............../.......l
.............0------0 Ground attacker
.......Target........

Now, if Target and ground attacker are 300 from eachother, how mcuh range is required for the air unit to fire at target if it is 400 off the ground? does it use pythagerium therom, being 500, or does it use the strieght 300?

It would use the straight 300. Range is not calculated via the pythagorian equation. But you could easily replicate it.
