My first serious attempt that suceeded to dodge/burn with no referance. I copied over all armor with 50/50/50 gray, dodge/burned to my heart's content, added some blood for fun, make hair green for no apparent reason... Anyways I want you to rate the armor [I know it's a bit dark, but if I brighten it, I lose detail] Enjoy, if you use part of it, give me credit! Keep in mind its a WIP |

here it is at 300% view, so you can see the details a bit better |

You want to know a secret of mine? I don't use dodge or burn.. ever. What you do is gradually up the color of what you're using; it looks much more convincing and is easily identifiable when compared to someone who uses a dodge or burn tool. |

whoa, Im gonna try that next, thx kain! [Does it look good ingame with that strategy?? I know this skin looks dull ingame... but then again every skin ive made looks muted if i make it a tga..] The point of this was to get crits on my dodge/burn work, so anyone mind giving me some crits/comments? |

You've seen my skins, what do you think? Jacinthe uses the same strategy in skinning as well. As for your dodge and burn, you need to accent the curves more. For the breast plate I'd make the top part a lot lighter than you did.. the pads would be lighter in the back parts.. the legs would be lighter down the center; et cetera. |

KDEWolf use(d) the way you've just done a skin (with the 50% grey) so its not that all the great skinners are using Kain_M's way of doing (good) skins. The 50% grey way can be more challenging to make a skin look good. But i prefer it anyway. Its not that your shading is bad, it could just use more details (you know, the armor needs some decoration etc.). But its good for a first skin this way. Just look at my own first skin using this technique :////´Then you will know what the word "crappy" means in all its glory. I think you should give this way of skinnin a chance, but thats not my decision. |

Nice skin... except for the fact that Arthas is now bleeding to death and has no eyes. :D |
