Basically I want to have the owl scout be a hovering unit with the appearence of flying, yet being unable to fly over things. I have given it a movement height of 100, set it's movement type to hover, yet whenever they're summoned, the owl is always laying on the ground flapping. They can't pass over things, but they seem to have movement height = 0. Any ideas? |

Are you using World Editor Enhanced? I heard somewhere that there was a bug in Unit Height in it.. try using the normal editor (if possible) to edit that field. Yeah, sounds like a hassle to me too ; ) |

hmm...problem with the normal editor is that you're unable to edit the abilities of the owl scout |

Or use dataangel's scheme, set its flying height to its current height +1 with a trigger in the game... |

What I'd like to do is set it up so that whenever the character uses the 'Scout' ability, the trigger changes the height of the unit that is summoned. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out how to transfer that into the trigger, any ideas? |

Event-Player X summons a unit Condition-unittype(summoned unit)=owl action-set movement height of last summoned unit to movement height of last summoned unit + 1 |

Thank you so much for your help, but the trigger doesn't seem to work. I even tried to have an existing owl and just change it's movement height with a trigger, but it doesn't seem to work on the owl. It worked fine on a chimera but for some reason the owl doesn't appear to want to change its height when it's hovering... Did this work for you or anyone for that matter? |

Anyone have any ideas? |

The problem is a bug in war3 I believe. HOVER UNITS CAN'T HAVE THEIR FLYING HEIGHT ADJUSTED :p As far as I can tell anyway. My fix only works for flying units that aren't appearing. |

Guest | Well you may lose some of the flying look but you could just make a it a ground unit. As for using a different hovering heights it does work. Just use a side view camera and you'll see it off the ground. The thing about hovering is that it looks kinda funny when you turn. Most owls I've seen dont fly sideways. |

Guest | What about using the sentry ability off of a huntress? Looks like an owl but doesnt move. |
