Anyone have good tips on 1st Person cameras?

I ask if anyone knows anything particularly useful concerning 1st Person cameras.

Now, I have a camera which already follows the unit's position and facing, has a Z height offset to around eye level, and so on. Problem is that the camera intersects the unit when it moves, as in random polygons pop onto the screen. The inverted Stormreaver Warlock face I've seen is creepy, and I MUST remove it somehow... I've tried moving the camera forward of course, which:

a. Decreases the number of polygons but still leaves bits.
b. Intersects other stuff in front of the unit, like trees, Furbolgs, units, bushes, houses, and so on.

I figured to make the unit invisible somehow to the owner, but the problem is that there's no normal ability to do this, and using the Animation - set Coloring trigger:

a. Makes the unit absolutely invisible to everyone, which is dumb.
b. Gets screwed up with Windwalk and other color-changing spells and stuff.

At least it makes it look what it should look like in most cases to a single player... and it looks pretty nice. Unfortunately it's not valid for multiplayer.

Ideally, it would rule to still see the unit's weapons and casting effects, but that's most likely impossible.

Anyone know anything about this kind of camera work?

check out my sig, you can make it smoother by setting the rotaion GUI to have it appear over .1 secs instead of 0. It works like a charm.

Er, I actually figured out how to make it smooth enough... it's mainly the unit clipping that's the problem... thanks though.
