the point system

hello, i'* new here and i keep reading about a bank for points. what is the point system and how do i check my points?

here, we use points to barter, and buy stuff from the Store . You get points by being helpful, posting (don't spam) and just for being active.

What can I 'barter' for exactly? I mean, I'* not exactly poor. I do all my own work, and help others for FREE.
