In my map i want it so that when a SPECIFIC hero picks up some gloves, (its a single player map). He gets a chaos attack. I figured i could use the Chimaeras corrosive breath upgrade to do this! So i set my heroes attack 2 to Chaos and I give him my custom upgrade ability (chaos). But when it is "researched" (and it is because it says: Upgrade completed : Chaos"), My heroes attack stays the same! Can anybody help me?

P.S: I gave a modified "Corrosive breath" ability to the hero if that helps.

Try making an upgrade that ALL it does is:

Attacks enabled - 2 only

And then make it so the hero uses the upgrade.
Then when its researched he should get the chaos attack.

No need for any special abilities on the hero.

EDIT: Due to the Nature of the "Second attack" in heroes (its never used, its for the "Orb" abilities.) If you enable "Attack 2 Only" then the attack damage listed disappears, its still WORKS, but the actual damage info in the stats box disappers. It might not if you use a ranged hero for the base hero, but I don't know.

EDIT2: Even if you base it off a ranged hero, it disappears.

EDIT3: I made a hero that started with attack 2 and had the upgrade enable attack 1, and the hero started with no damage listed in its states, but after upgrading (enabling attack 1) the hero did gain a Chaos attack.

Also note: if you use attack 2 in your map, you CANNOT use orbs. Because what an orb does is it enables attack 2, so if you set attack 2 to chaos, then the hero would get a chaos attack whenever he/she picked up ANY orb.

EDIT4: IDEA! Make all the heroes second attack something special (extra damage or range or chaos attack) and then make a new item based off an orb that says "It brings out the inner strength of the hero" and make it so that is the only orb in your map... Don't know, just an idea.

You could just base the item off of one of the orbs, and have its 'second attack' that it enables be the Chaos one. You'll have to disable the primary attack with the orb as well. And yes, remember to change the legal targets for the second attack, since likely the only one that exists by default is 'air'.
