I use 3ds max 6.0 and the importer is sposed to work for 4.2+ right? so why dont it work it says syntax error and some garbled text in the script veiwer.... can n e 1 help me?:saddened: |

Yeah I totally know what your problem is 'cause I had the same one. Make sure you leave the file extension as .mse (I changed it to .ms 'cause I'm a fool). Put the file in your Plugins>startup folder. Open 3ds max (you shouldn't get the error - if on the off chance you do, take the .mse file out of startup - but you shouldn't have to) In 3ds max, on the vertical toolbar on the right side of the screen, click the hammer. Go down to the MaxScript button and click it. Now there's a spinner about halfway down the window that might say "Convert to mr Area Lights". Roll it down one more and you should see "MDX Importer/Exporter. Obviously that's the one you want. If it's not there (if you were not able to put the .mse file in your startup) then click the run script button, find the .mse file and open it. The reason you got that script error is because 3ds max 6 is not recognising the file as a MaxScript file, that's all. Hope that helps. |

it might work i just dont know where to use it cause i checked the import and export menu but it wasn't there. got any tips?:bangH: |
