help with dod mdx text editor thingy

can any1 post a simple tutorial on using dashiofdeath's mdx text edit thingy? I mean i dont understand it, like how to convert to obj or mdx. do i load the mdx then export and make it "myfilesname.obj"? cuz in that little bottom box that says the file type, it has the blank extension, so i dont know if im doing the right thing. please help me, i want to make a grahpic mod for warcarft 3.

1. Click Load MDX. Load your MDX.
2. Export it at whatever.obj.
3. Quit.
4. Move the verts around.
5. Reopen. Load MDX.
6. Import your obj.
7. Save MDX.

grrr it still didnt work.... do i need to put my mdx text edit thing in my warcarft 3 directory or something? heres what i did:[list=1][*]used mpq view to extract ghoul.mdx[*]opened mdx text edit[*]pressed load mdx and clicked on ghoul.mdx and pressed open[*]clicked file-export and ex[orts as newguy.obj[*]opened 3ds max 4.2 and with my import plugin, imported newguy.obj[*]i looked in the perspective and saw nothing. thats how i know something is wrong[/list=1]

i also tried using mdx-obj and saved the mdx as ghoul.obj and then opened t in 3ds and it opened fine. i exported as obj again, to save it and i opened ghoul.mdx with mdx text edit. i then clicked on import and clicked on the edited ghoul.obj and opened it. i clicked view model and i saw nothing new....... do you know whats wrong?:(

you dont know 3ds max all that well, do you. anyway... daishi's only exports vertex data.

Darky- Except not, it exports everything, including texture vertices, faces, vertices, and normals...

That you probably are... I'll reload the newest version on the my website in a minute here, and post a link... It loads just about every model now. And if it doesn't, just paste a CAMS block at the end of the file (you can find one in most critters), if you know what I'm talking about. =)

are there any tutorials on editing obj files in 3dsm or something like that to help me i want to make a new model for warcraft 3.

why halflife and quake, etc? Im trying to mod warcraft 3 not halflife and quake i dont even own them. :////

Modeling's modeling. The quake and HL tutorials will do just as much good as a WC3 tutorial, which none exist,

You need to use the WAVEFRONT .obj importer when importing into 3dsmax.
