well, through trial and error I found some things about icons and how they are imported. --==I use WC3 Viewer, UMSWE beta 4.1, and Paint Shop Pro==-- When you create an icon using psp(paint shop pro), you need to convert it into a .BLP, but you can save it to an array of different types of files, which ones do you use? Save it to... 1. JPG - I usually dont use this often and I dont encounter many problems when I convert this to a .BLP 2. TGA - If more complicated, it sometimes works, it sometimes doesnt, I generally use this type for skins. 3. BMP - DOESNT, lemme repeat that, DOESNT have an alpha channel so therefor cannot be BATCH CONVERTED because it DOESNT have an ALPHA CHANNEL, so it wont convert properly because .BLP's require alpha's and the WC3Viewer will somehow override the "check for alpha channels" and not prompt you about it because you may select more than one type of file to be converted to another. The imported pictures go to... ReplaceableTextures\Commandbuttons\BTNYourIcon'sNameHere.blp for the normal BTN icons. ReplaceableTextures\CommandbuttonsDisabled\BTNYourIcon'sNameHere.blp for the disabled icons. --==MOST pictures can be .TGA or whatever... but they take up around 2-5x's as much space as a .BLP would.==-- Please post any comments on this, thank you. 12/25/03 |

The post is appreciated, but... I believe it's already in the FAQ. :ggani: Thanks anyway. |
