Hiya!

I recently started creating spells with triggers, which is loads of fun, but this time im really stuck! Any help would be appreciated :)

Problem is this: (well there are plenty heh)
Im trying to create a flame-spell, of the same type that diablo uses - you know, the crawling, random fire that spreads on the floor in front of him.

Edit: Heck, tried to explain my trigger-setup, but was easier to attach a jpg :)

1) Well first of all, i cant make the fire still do damage, after the "new" firepoint is initially made. I.e - the whole snake of fire isnt doing damage anymore, it only looks pretty :D

2) I cant make the fire stop spreading any further if the caster gets another order - the fire just keeps growing the 20 tics i made it, and after that it just stays =/

That's it i guess... And please, bend the explanation in flashing neon for me - im not very versed with the language of the editor yet :)

Umm - if I havent supplied enough info of some sort, please let me know :)

Thanks in advance,
Kish

I have a sugestion... (havnt tried this myself just thought of it.. might work) okay

1.)for the fire make a seperate trigger... name it like fire Effects or somthing like that...

2.) when u have it the loop part... when it starts the fire... take that off and make it run trigger - "Fire Effects"

3.) in the fire effects trigger put the fire effects in there... there u put your fire effects... mostly what u tooken of ur first trigger u add here...

4.) after u put the effects in and everything add a trigger called "turn off trigger" this will make the trigger turn off and hopefully take the fire away..But the doodad u used as fire always keeps going... so i dont know if it will turn it off or not... havnt tried myself...

Any question or u dont get it... just ask... il try and make it more easier to understand... or il make a sample ... hope it works:D

EDIT: damnit u go the question b4 i did.... bah...

Also if you are going to post a trigger here, Use the Copy As Text feature found in your editor, it will copy th whole trigger in text format to your clipboard and you'll get able to paste the text in your threas
