Well I'm making a single player level based off of the Aliens franchise, I've been working off and on for about a year or two. Don't be shocked, I'm really slow and this started out just a map to try and learn triggers, and really that's how it stayed. What little story there is is full of cliches and overused plot elements, so it should fit in nicely with many other WC3 maps :p constructive criticism is welcome but this is my first trigger intensive map ever so don't be too harsh. Pretty please? There's still a few kinks to be worked out, a lot of polishing left to do and i need to finish the end cinematics (good and bad ending, like in Abe's Odyssey.) It's basically one of them tactical strategic shooter type things. EDIT: Updated map. Includes fixed sounds and other things. |

I downloaded it. Be right back with my opinions! ;) for ur first map, it's awesome! just need some work on the terrain and with the cinematic imo but the map is cool! i died near the middle by a chunk of rifflemen! :( lol! good luck for the next release! :D |

It's not technically my first map, it's just my first map with triggers and terrain made from scratch. I've made a few altered melees just out of pure boredome but they weren't anything to look at. Trust me, the terrain does get a little better as you go through the map, the first part takes place outside the colony, and if you've seen Alien or Aliens, LV-426 isnt a planet that translates well to WC3 terrain. I'm trying to get the feel of it without using too many doodads, I've used way too many as it is. |

Just had to comment on the file size. It is pretty big, I hope it's worth taking that chunk out of my memory to d/l it. Brb after I play it. Great looking map you got going there. I hope you finish is soon! I like the fog effect you have across the map. This is a good newage based map you have going. Keep up the good work! |

yeah it is pretty big, but by the time i realized that i was really trying to fit two or three small levels into one big one i had done too much work to go back and change it, and my laziness kicked in. This map has been through hard-drive crashes (i had a much older version on a seperate computer and was able to save it) and other malicious pc woes, im kinda surprised i bothered to get this far with it :p |

I am glad you did! I really like the sound work you did with it. The sound + the fog gives it a 'feel' and makes me able to connect to the map. It's great. |

the wind outside is nothing special, it was just annoying keeping out of the indoor portions of the map. As for the sound there's supposed to be a custom sound going on throughout the colony but it stopped working just recently, i'll probably fix it by the next release. |

Just be sure to notify me!:D |

Check my first post for an updated map. It WOULD have included a new, very spiffy custom loading screen but the file got too big. que sera sera, whatever will be will be. |

I played it, it was pretty good, but too hard for my taste. I was kind of dissapointed you didn't use my alien skins, but thats ok. It was pretty realistic, but sometimes it got a little repetetive. I hope you will work on it more. But its so hard... I couldn't beat it with or without cheats. But I only tried twice. |

I did look for alien skins/models for a while but i didn't come across any. Care to point me in the right direction? And it can be insanely difficult, it can also be pretty easy, up until the hive anyway. There are a couple of big shortcuts in the colony, one of which lets you avoid almost the entire complex, but it's pretty hard to find. You get no such luxury in the hive, just take your time, and use the scouts ability to its fullest to find the right path. EDIT: nvm, found them. Thanks. another EDIT: what are the paths for the skins? Apparently I'm totally inept at finding them myself, cuz i cant get them to work. |

Hydralisk Skin Path: Units\Critters\Hydralisk\Hlisk.blp Felhound Skin Path: Units\Demon\Felhound\Felstalker.blp Murgul Slave Skin Path: Units\Creeps\MurgulSlave\MurGulSlave.blp I hope that helps. |

Mine is put on hold for probably a while, my computer died, and with it went all my sounds/models that were waiting to be put in the map. I'll get aroudn to reinstalling warcraft 3 again at some point, but that would be only to finish this map and make others, ive lost interest in playing the actual game. |

Well I played it, and it's pretty good. Although you should make the medics heal "A" or something, so if you group him seperately you can still use the 'heal move' command. |
