I saw a thread before saying go into map options and it will say how to change the options but i dont see any that. The options in map options for me are the following:
Those are the only options available. Is there some other way to have the maps save as w3m. Then I had someone tell me to look in map description here are the only options in there. uh, nope here are the options under map description.
That is it. |

w3x = TFT w3m = RoC The reason why it is w3x is probably because you have something that is only exclusive to TFT. |

and if u dont have somthing exclusive for tft... it will tell u a warning if it is or not when u save the map.. just add the extentions at the end of ur map .w3m when saving and it will save it as a regular roc file. |

RoC 1.10+ WE uses the extention .w3x for all maps, despite that it doesn't support that extensions, for reasons not known to man. However, as long as you don't use any TFT content (which could be hard to do if you don't have TFT), RoC will be able to read the map if you manually rename the file and change the extension to w3m. |

If you're going to respond don't pull answers out of your a.ss. Also, it never warns you before hand... I'm running the worldeditor they provide no extra addons. There is no where I can see where it list tft verse roc options. So, unless I'm told exactly where they are located I will assume you went by gossip/"word of the mouth". Quote:
I'm not damaged in the head, I think I realized it was trying to save it as a expansion. Quote:
I just read that last reply before mine, I will check it out if it works your my bud for life. Because the Save-as adding the extension w3m doesn't work. I will try to see if the game recognizes the file if i change the extension and secondly I will check to see if it can actually load it. Nope, doesn't work it doesn't even see the file, if i manually change the extension from w3x to w3m. Oh, well I guess this map of mine will have to wait until the next patch in which hopefully they change the way the editor works if not this map is doomed. |

maybe thats your problem: since the patch the people with roc save their map as w3x. That happens to my firend with roc too and other people have the problem too Maybe you can rename the map? |

It doesn't work to just rename it? Are you sure? I'm pretty sure that I was able to do that before I got TFT... hmm... When I get home if no one who actually knows how to make it work has posted yet I can try to find out. |

Hi all This is really retarded, i have the same problem. This means that any mappers with only WC3:RoC are forced to buy TFT! How utterly retarded is this world now? Why have blizzard made it so the editor only saves as TFT maps and not normal maps? Its ridiculous i cant believe that they would do such a thing. Anyways Did anyone find a patch or fix for this uttery gay *** problem? |

I had the same problem, then I got this small patch thing that let me place those hidden units, then it let me save as w3m..weird huh? |

Guest | Guys i think ur problem is here.... 1)Ur using colors wit names examples: |cffffcc00Jaina|r 2)Ur using custom Icon Path examples: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNJaina.tga Those wut i think r some of the problems getting the map saved as .W3x (I hav ROC too) |

Um, no, Drunk2Hell. None of those things cause problems. The most likely cause is a bug, and it is experienced by alot of people. |

Why would using colours in a unit's tooltip and strings in icon paths cause problems? |

To quote another guy form this thread: Quote:
Blizzard uses color strings IN EVERY TOOL TIP. And imports were supported in RoC aswell. Drunk2Hell |
