Hey folks. Christmas season, I tell ya. Good to see things moving here, as usual.

Here's a skin I did today as part of an agreement with VooDooO (talented fellow that he is). It's for his exclusive use unless he decides otherwise, as an FYI. =)

Please note the staff is slated for an overhaul as soon as I get some input from VooDooO - it stretches like a mad thing.

For anyone who may be interested, all of my previous skins may be found in the link in my signature, if you scroll all the way to the bottom.

I would love some constructive criticism, if anyone has the time. I'm a bit rusty. Thank you.

Correction, you are a 'n00b', SolidSaint. :)

Very nice work Jacinthe, as expected from you, it's nice to see good skinners still visit here to inspire us all!

The skin very much shouts Ice Mage at you :) I especially like his clothing and head of the staff.

To answer the 'madman':

Simple: Increase the resolution of the texture.

Blizzard made a RTS game that would be playable by people of differing specs of computer, INCLUDING low end PC's. If they'd have made super high poly models and high res skins, the game would be so much prettier, but much less playable. They have to make a compromise to have the best of both.

ALSO, units have to all fit a visual theme. A theme that many describe as 'cartoonish'. You have to remember that these models appear much smaller in game. lot of the lovely detail in such a skin as the above is lost in-game.

wow 10/10 like all your skins. Only thing that i think needs fixing is the boots. Maybe add textures to it like the sleeves and jacket. looks great.
It sux that your not entering my contest you would have probly won :ggani: Why do you never release your skins?

trust me, you don't have to make the resolution 1024X1024 to get a good skin, if you have skill, you can make that kind of skill on 512, or even 256... It's even better if you create a skin in 1024x1024, and resize it to 256, it will lose some detail, but it will look awsome, and you can even see some pixels on his clothing, that means he doesn't use as high a resolution you think he does!

i do my skins at 512. They look nice if people want them 2 fit in there maps they can reduce them.

Anywayz Jacinthe has 2 be the most amazing skinner 2 ever b here. Kde ad Ydoh come in real close but they never included such amazing icons with there work(which im sure are high res 2). A true artist.

What do u do 4 a living, Graphic designer? anywayz just interested.
I'm currently trying to get in2 graphic design or gaming design. Prob the second 1 cause of this site.

I was implying that you can achieve much greater levels of detail with higher res. It usually is maintained quite well after reducing it after too.

I'm not sure if Jacinthe's skin is high res, I'd guess it is 512x512 by the detail of the chest and belt.

Look at any superb quality skin, they are largely high res. Wolverine and Egg for example.

Those have to be the most realistic wrinkles I've ever seen. Definitely one of your best works.

I wish I could draw like that.

Wow, thanks for the kudos, guys. =) I appreciate it!

This skin is 256 x 256 - Medivh is just accomodating in the chest region, despite the fact that it's usually covered up by a big ugly red flap. I've never done any skin at a higher resolution than Blizzard's. I'd really like to, sometime.
