Let me enlighten you, "Magus" is an old form of the word "mage" but in singular. A Magus is also the term of a extremely powerful mage (NOTE: Ive made up the rest from now on) witch doesn't need to study the magic arts since the Magus learns as he/she grows older. A Magus is the very source of magic along with other magical relics such as the well of eternity in warcraft. They are not race nor gender constricted but have certain things in common:
- They prefer magescythes above other weapons.
- They are nearly immortal, reaching an age of 5000-6000 years before they "die".
- No one has ever succeeded in killing one.
- They like black capes, mainly becuase their favorite color is always black.
- At an age of 2500-3000 they know everything about magic, including all spells.
- They never consist in the same era.
- They have no need of chanting their spells(but its more efficient).
- They are masters of combat(and they LOVE combat).
- They see and react 5000 times faster than a normal human, using magic they can stop time.
- They share the same personality.
- They are the peak of magic arts.
- They have a lifelong youth.
- They are engulfed in blue or green flames in certain tempers.
- For short: they are as uber as it gets under god-status.

I was inspired to this Magus-thingie in the game "Chrono Trigger" by Square/Enix to the SNES.
