It is so simple to do, it's called Zepir's editor. It takes all of 5 seconds to find it, 3 seconds to load, 5 seconds to create the stuff, a second to save and the upload time here.

Loaded up fine for me, but damn if your thinking of making a Bnet map with this, dear god please no.

aight first yes, i am going 2 make a bnet game with this. However, i got a little problem, World Edit wont let me change the map description, because it is in the same set of tabs as the camera bounds, which comes up with an error... (to big) now i am pretty sure that i could change the description in zepirs map editor, just 1 thing.... i read somewhere that u shouldn't import a map to zepirs, unless u know how to include some essential info (i think thats from the description of the download...) so what do i do? im pretty bent on this project, its gonna be fun :P

A B.Net MAP?! 0_o
You're crazy! You can't make SUCH A HUGE MAP (!!!) to play! It even is large for just without B.net...

...
...
...okay, I'm back to my normal self...
I don't think the normal WE can support the 480 x 480 map. After all, the limit IS 256x 256. I suggest you NEVER make a 480 x 480 map. Ever...
It takes waaaaay too much time and it will be near (for me it will be) unplayeble.

Just take this as kind advice ;)

IIRC, a 16 bit integer is used for many things effecting terrain, like blight. That means you can't have blight after the 65535th tile, which means after the 136th column no blight will show up. It also applies to some other things but I don't remeber what.

Not to mention that you'll reach the doodad limit LONG before you populate the map.

A 256*256 map already causes extreme lag on some computers. With 480*480 I'd bet the game splits every single time.

Hehe, a 160 x 160 already makes a huge lag for my computer, so I don't even WANT to try a map even larger ;)

larger maps then 256x256 are not that quite stable:

*horrible loading times, even for a pIII 1000
*Blight does not work correctly
*Descriptions etc are bugged regarding map, you need Zephir's map editor for that
*Works in theory on bnet, but, in practice it fails horribly, 90% will drop from loading, usually only two remains on the map lagging alot

You could had set that up by yourself instead of wasting points away, just extract and edit the miscdata.txt from ui folders from the patch.mpq and you edit the max map value

Zephir's Editor is the only way you can change Map Properties...

I highly advise you to not make a 480x480 map for Battle.net.

There *was* a thread that said how much points you could give for stuff. I thought the (I think I'm wrong though) limit of 'Terrain' was 50. So you could ask for refund.

actually i just gonna be stupid and make the map... for multiple reasons.
a) i wont reach the doodad limit, because about 1/3 of the map will be desert and ocean.
b) 480x480 is only 3.5 times larger than 256x256, and if u DO have a 64mb graphics card or better and 966mhz comp and no other running programs it works fine. i know this because my comp runs the map fine, and my comp is 4 years old with a 256 SDR ram upgrade, and a nvidia geforce 4.
c) *this is the kicker* none of my maps ever get played a lot, because even after i knock off all the bugs, they are usually quite complicated, to complicated for the average stupid american gamer. I myself am american, and so pretty lazy, so i ddin't bother to figure out how to do the map size myself. Oh, and the reason i make maps anyway, is cause i like the programing aspect of triggering, plus i am a pretty good terrainer, id give myself a 8/10 for terraining job :P
NOTE: i will not ask for a refund, i dont give a **** about points, they do nothing but get people to help you do stuff. i just accumulate points from posts, cause i like this forum, and legolas has helped me on numerous occasions anyway. and he did the job right.

well...i don't want to spoil everything for you, but that map lags on 2.1 gh + 64ddr card...512 ddr 333mhz
maybe it's just me :)
and, no, i don't run ANY anti-virus programs...

If it doesnt lag already, it certainly will with 5+ players.
