Guest | "Attack And Capture" It's a very wonderful and useful trigger that building is attacked and captured. Let's see how to fulfil it. Event: Unit-Cannon Tower 0000<gen> is attacked Condition: (Life of cannon tower 0000<gen>) less than or equal to 300.00 Action: Unit- change ownership of cannon tower 0000<gen> to player1(red) and change color Unit- set life of cannon tower 0000<gen> to 100.00% When the cannon tower is attacked by player1, and its hitpoint is less than 300, the tower will become red and with full hitpoint !! A wonderful thing, right ? It can be used in Hero Arena and so on. |

Those maps do lack origionality. All they are, mostly, are just a "which agility hero can get more tomes first" kind of map. I've only played one balanced map. [Moved by MasterSlowPoke] |

It would be really cool for a Zerg Queen-style takeover. WarCraft Spy units? Ooooooooo... |

Guest | One thing to keep in mind with a trigger like this is that not all spells trigger an attacked event. IE, if the tower is attacked with Blizzard, it will not trigger this event. |

Guest | A great idea! Capturing buildings provides another world of (warcraft) possiblities for map/campaign ideas.:D |

Guest | I think you could also specify a condition so that the capture would only take place if the unit was of a certain type. So you could do the whole thing where you use some units to trash the building, then send in an engineer to take over the building, ala C&C. |

I use a trigger like this on my Action! AOS map that allows teams to capture a gold mine. Because I noticed a problem with magic spells like blizzard, I set the building to be immune to magic. Disallowing magic spells just makes the building a little harder to capture. You just want to make sure that whatever the damage threshold is, that there is no spell or other way that someone would be able to reduce it past that health level before the trigger was called. If you set the health threshold to 300 and someone hits it for 350 dmg, the building would be destroyed. |

Guest | Well, you might want to allow it to be destroyed, if you were using the "Engineering capture" method. Rather than let the player auto capture buildings, he has to use a specific unit. |

I believe theres a "when unit takes damage" event that would work. And so you can have it used on multiple things, such as towers or something, just add in a condition "unit equal to building" or "unit equal to in unit group". And for the unit group one, make a trigger that whenever a player finishes building a structure, its added to the group. And just make sure that you make sure your gettin all the towers you want in there. I was just trying to make it a bit easier. |
