How can you make it so that units can walk on the roofs of buildings, like houses? |

There was a post on this somewhere, I just don't remember where. It IS possible to make units walk on Doodads and such... |

What about making the unit flying and the if it walks off a house, use a trigger to put him back up. |

In the unit editor you set the buildings setings sothat you can walk on it. |

Wrong. Walkable in the editor referes to whether it can be walked THROUGH or not. Pathing map overrules what ever setting you have that on, and because buildings have pathing maps that are UNwalkable, changing that setting has no effect. Beam beat me to the reply I was goind to give when I saw this thread. Custom RAMP destructable is how you make a building walkable. |

The ramp part is something I now know off hand. I've never used it, and I'm not modding currently so I might never... But it's something I'll always remember when I'm working with WC3. Lesson to learn, If you do not know the answer, do not post. Regards Dead-Inside |

Aww, that's too damn bad it's for destructibles only; I've already terrained my city with doodad buildings, and there's no way I'm going to change them to destructibles for this effect. Sigh. Got my hopes up and everything. |

Biflspud, you wouldn't want to anyway... A unit could walk straight up the wall and onto the roof... You would have to put pathing blockers on the edge of every roof to stop it... I think that would take even more time then replacing all the buildings in a city... |

Ew. That's.. yeah, that's bad. Ah well. It'd mostly be for show anyway; as it stands now, the gargoyles just get to run around inside of the doodad, but are stopped at the edges because the doodads aren't set walkable, and my buildings are composed of multiple doodads. If I set them walkable, people could just stroll into them from the ground floor, too. Never mind, then. Thanks for the reality check, AP! :D |
