Guest | hey, i figured this out so this is how you do it: make sure that warcraft iii is installed in c:\program files\warcraft iii\ if it isnt, it really isnt a big deal, but you might have to change some stuff in this tutorial. then download both the enhanced world editor and mpq2k. follow the installation instructions for the EWE and download mpq2k to c:\program files\warcraft iii\mpq2k\ okay, then finish your map and save it as swords in the above directory. then go to "units" folder in the warcraft iii directory and find the file unitsUI.slk. copy that file and move it to the mpq2k dir. open up the .slk with wordpad. go to edit-find and type in the unit you would like to edit. now, if you wanted to change the paladin voice you would find paladin, and wait until something like this, or similar, would come up: x1:\ "units\human\heropaladin\heropaladin" x2:\ ...........whatever x3:\"HeroPaladin" now, the x3:\ column at the bottom means the voice it uses. now if you wanted to make the paladin sound like, say, a witch doctor, you would do this: x3:\"Witchdoctor" then save the .slk and open up the properties for mpq2k auto implement. if there isnt one of these, just make a shortcut of mpq2k in the mpq2k folder. change the target line to "c:\program files\warcraft iii\mpq2k\mpq2k.exe" a swords.w3m unitsUI.slk units\unitsUI.slk then click <apply> and start the shortcut. the .slk is implanted. then go back to the .slk and change whatever you did back to normal. NOTE: DO NOT SAVE YOUR MAP AGAIN, SO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS COMPLETELY FINISHED!!! it would then erase the sounds and you would have to implement it again. move your map to the warcraft iii maps directory open war3 and run the map. the units sound should work. if it doesn't either try reading this over or i hope this helps you all. and Heaven, you were the one who really taught me how, so all credit goes to him except for the fact that he didnt type this tutorial. thankss for reading |

Guest | i think that is if you change the unit sound in the world editor enhanced and then add the unitmetaUI.slk or something like that. i think this one works, but someone should try it out, cuz i dont really know. |

I belive pacth 1.3 allows you to place unit speech within the editor. |

You can place your custom sounds into a .w3m like any other file, and it does not d'synce battle.net. |
