Having knocked back DT4:A I think its a requisite I release a demo map to really show the other map makers just how to include it into your map. Since this basically screams RPG I figure why not make a really cool RPG? Intended Features: -Two players (A swordsman and a gunner) -Tutorial for first time players -Four tiers of weapons,( you start at the lowest) -Three tiers of armor. -Aessories. Accessories will be able to go in any slot, but have a free spot on the unit just for them. -Hireable mercenaries. Which will be more limited heroes. (less total levels, no interface icon, their stat points are automatically attributed, and they can only equip weapons or accessories) Unique mercenaries have special abilities which can create weapons but require you to find materials they need. (Ie. a blacksmith may be able to create a sword for you but he needs silver ore to do so and he needs to spend points in blacksmithing to do so) Swordsman: ----------------------------------- SwordPlay: Allows the swordmen to perry and cause critical hits. (3 levels based off drunken brawling) Crushing blow: A powerful attack that will stun who ever is hit by it (3 level trigger spell) ???: (3 level spell) Dual Wielding: An ultimate ability. Once learned the swordsman uses two swords increasing his damage potential highly. Gunner: ---------- I'm not really sure I'd like all his abilities to be related to autocast spells like arrows and the Orb of Destruction but then people will probably not really want to play as him as it doesn't take much to turn on arrows when neccessary. ==================================== Mercenaries: --------------- Mercenaries start at a certain level each and can only gain 3 levels before they are maxed out. Since you can only have one mercenary per player this will encourage you to switch to a different one. Mercs may or may not be revivable. They may have two or three spells each but each point is put in automatically and not by the player. Fighter (swordsman mimic) (lvl 1 start) -------------------------------- He should have low damage and decent hp. He'll be begging you to equip him up. Because of his Shield of Honor he might make a very good tank for the more fragile gunner hero. Shield of Honor: The fighter carries a powerful sheild which he can use to protect him of all physical attacks and convert them to his mana reserves. Each level increases its power. (2 levels gained at level 2 maxed at level 4) Shield Stomp: The fighter crashes his shield to the ground with such intensity that it causes all nearby units to be stunned. Marksman (gunner wannabe) (lvl 1 start) ------------------------------------------------ He has horrible hp, but decent to good damage. His main attraction will be his freezing shot. which can slow even the most disgruntle boss. Freezing shot: A perfect shot of pure ice towards its target. (2 levels gained at level maxed at 4) Flare: Fires a flare showing hidden areas of the map. There might be more generic mercenaries maybe you have some ideas for them Unique Mercenaries: ---------------------- (no ideas) |

Story Ideas: 1. Hero must save the world. 2. Must fight all-powerful end-game boss. 3. Absolutely MUST have a female that falls in love with the hero (unless you are doing a gay rpg). <> <> <> Other Stuff: 1. Kick-*** terrain. 2. Kick-*** cinematics |

->Not only hack and slash, but add some puzzles. Zelda 64 had great puzzles, for example you had to make the light bounce off of certain objects in order to open the door. ->Make the boss battles require some intelligence to beat. A simple example is where the boss can only be hurt if you attack his back. ->A mini game would be nice; I suppose something like the final fantasy 8 card game would do. |

Since thats just spam ill contrib to the thread...I was thinking the terrain should be a large, open area that you have to explore, not paths you have to just follow and fight enemies. |
