Yes. AOS-type maps are pretty fun. I prefer RPG's as they are usually the closest to actually having an in-depth story and that is what I like in a map... The only problem with those is that they are long and many people on Bnet are not willing to play it through and you are usually undermanned to continue after all the Bnet noobs leave.

TD's are just plain insults to my intelligence... unless they are the rare case in which someone skilled has made them, but still.. I don't find them very fun.

I have never played a sports map or Footman Wars map, so I don't really have an opinion on them.. but cool3qmr is correct that this isn't a real poll unless you include AOS on there. :ggani:

On battlenet? Probably aeon types of maps, or merc war types of maps.

But there are far and few between that are worth playing. I actually like regular old melee maps the best. I want to see people to more melee type remakes of the game, new race mod is a pretty good extreme (whats the new name for that project?), and i'm working on one (nothing fancy, just stuff borrowed from the community and incorporated with the game, plus a some of my own ideas to make melee a more interesting game to play).

So i'd say if you want to do what everyone else is doing, do a good AoS type of map.

If you want to be really cool, make something crazy and unique to you, like a melee remake (a pretty big deal when you think about it) or a VERY detailed RPG type of map. Go for it, creativity is too much repressed these days, so just make something that really is fun for you and all your own :D .

Aww what the hell, someone delete this for me, i hit the new trhead button instead of reply button, and it won't let me delete the post. Some noobs should just stick to playing counterstrike this late...

I dunno, most RPGs are just exercises in patience as you go about hacking everything apart on the map.

Im working on an SST RPG right now... the problem with a good stortyline is that you need good cinematics. The problem with cinematics is that everyone pretty much ahs to be at the same place at the same time. Also it takes forever to do them properly. After about 2 weeks of work all i have done is 1.5 of 3 parts of the map, about 20 min worth of gameplay. And thats with giant bugs crawling outta holes and tunnels collapsing.

AOS's. My current favorites are the new Tides of Blood, The Big Chill, and Thirst for Gamma.
