Making spell and building icons disabled!

I have no trouble importing icons,just that i dont use the custom path as ppl say here i just select it in the import box and it works fine.The question is how do i make building and spell icons disabled and how do i implement them in the map?Is there some sort of a layer that i can just paste over the icon,or i must shade\darken it manually?Or when i type that disabled icon custom path it will darken by itself?Must i change all the paths to my icons from imported to custom in order to do this? plz help!

1. yes you do need to make it look disabled,
2. no it wont auto darken
3. the path u search for in this forum
4. convert those pics to .blp and then set a custom path
5. the disabled need their own custom paths
6. SEARCH BEFORE YOU ASK

Dude you arent helping me much here...

My icons are in .blp i just dont use the custom path i use the import path.
And where do i puth the path to disabled icons??There is no such option on buildings!Im a total noob you have to be more clear. tnx :ggani:

The normal button icons go to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\. They should be named BTNsomething.blp

The disabled buttons go to ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\. They should be named DISBTNsomething.blp.

You have to shade them manually. I think the WEU Enchancer has some option to make a shaded one.

As i said i have no trouble making normal buttons i tried both custom and import path and both work !

But where do i type the path to disabled icons??I make a normal building button and lets say i have the disabled button of the same building,WHERE do i type the path to it??There is no such option in object editor\units!

And btw i just read this when i wanted to download the WEU patch...

Don't use this editor to edit maps already created before with standard WE if you don't know which files you need to import into the map.

Does this mean i cant use it because i already began working in normal WE?And if i can use does it mean i can crash my map making it useless??Note:I just need the shading icon option my mentioned...

You can't set the path to the disabled button anywhere. As I explained, it has to be in the ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\ dir (you can set this as custom path for that BLP) and it's name has to be the same, but has to start with DIS.
Example:
Button: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNMyButton.blp
Disabled button: ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtonsDisabled\DISBTNMyButton.blp
