Guys you`r great in sound editing. So maybe you`ll tell me what does this registry keys do:
donotusewaveout
nomidi
nosoundwarn
softwaremidi
All they are located in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\Sound
Thanks a lot.

Hmm if I had to guess...
DoNotUseWaveOut would probably mean it does not use your default wave out channel on the soundcard.
NoMidi is probably something to do with WC3 not playing midi files.
NoSoundWarn, I would guess this is what gives you the warnings if the system uses bad sound drivers (I actually had a popup like that sometime) "No soundcard detect" etc.
SoftwareMidi... I dunno mabye that IF it would use midi's it would use the standard midi bank?

Hmm. They are there.
Good question. I have no idea, in all honesty - I would guess that WC3 did indeed once (Surely not now) have midi support. A lot changes over development - but then again Blizzard stopped using midi since WC2, with Diablo 1, 2 and StarCraft using recorded wave music instead.
It seems odd that Blizz would go out of their way to support it (e.g. for the sake of mapmakers - I believe quite a few always wanted it for StarCraft RPG's). A mystery indeed.

There must be a way to test it...

Thanks to you I discovered what NoSoundWarn means. At first I thought it is a warning when your units are under attack or some research have been completed. But there is such a thing: when I play some music with winamp and then launch War3 it gives me a message that there is no sound card on my computer. It seems to me that sound card is busy with winamp and can do only one job at a time. I have an old sound blaster and i`m sure that modern sound cards has no such errors. So if I turn NoSoundWarn to 0 no messages appear but there is still no sound in the game. Thanks for advice again. But other values are still a mystery… You`r masters of sound and I`m sure you can check if sound card is playing midi or not. It might be useful for some users with old sound cards.

Ahh, I see. And yes - modern soundcards allow multiple inputs to a card at once.
