I am bored and creatively blocked so I am offering my work to make your spell ideas become a reality, some rules: 1) I can't decide to not to even try a spell if I find it to easy 2) You have to give me credit for It 3) I will be able to use it in any of my own projects. 4) All the people will be able to use them as long as they give me credits I will periodically attach the spells in this thread. Well i'll jump on a hand out, if yall won't :gsmile: This one sounds pretty easy mechanically, so i could understand why you'd say "uh der, no" to this one, but visually is really what i'm going for. I am very bad with triggers though, so for me its a feat: Basicallly i want something as close as possible to the effect of a castle dumping boiling pitch on besieging units near by the castle (melee or slightly further out that that) in a area all around the structure. Boiling pitch could also be easily subsituted for some kind of liquid fire effect. The initial damage and burning damage (complete with burning effect from like flamestrike or something) is not important, i can balance that later, but i've been running ideas through my head on how to make the visuals and stuff run together VERY smooth. Listen to me, so picky for a something so free 8)) Anyways, i was thinking of that cauldron doodad, and perhaps the effect would be something like one on each castle wall or parapet thing on the Human town hall shows up (problematic here, just showing up sounds kinda retarded...?) and tips over, then some kind of firey waterfall business and finally an impact kind of effect, followed by the hapless burn duration effect. Anyways, if that's too dumb, i heard that there is a way to chain build walls toghether through triggers. Kind of like Age of kingdoms or whatever. Just an idea to deviate from the whole custom spell stuff, if you're interested. Whatever you wind up doing, thanks in advance if you think my ideas are useful enough for giving a try, and secondly, thanks for taking the time to go out of your way to help all us noobs out there by making a bunch of spells for us :D . |

I would love to have handy the following spells: 1. Flame Wave Ward - When a unit comes in range of this ward it autmatically starts casting a series of Flame Waves (Breath of Fire or the such?). When the unit leaves range it stops casting. It can cast a total of 10 waves before it selfs destructs. Of course it also has a time set to it's lifetime. Maybe two minutes, with a similar cooldown. (Uneless of coruse you could work it so more than one could be on the field at a time.) 2. Thunder Storm - Similar to the storm spell where you cast it on an area and it strikes periodically every unit in the area repetedly till the unit stops casting, however I would like this to be cast like Starfall - It automatically strikes units around the caster without the player having to select where to use it. Also I would like the unit to not be frozen when casting, instead able to cast and continue to move and fight, witht he storm moving with him and hitting near units. All I got in mind. Ok heres a spell for you Charged Bolt Targetable spell - The user charges up his bolt, the longer the user charge, the more damage is done, but the spell will be broken if the unit is issued another order (like channeling) I tried myself, and seriously ****ed it up, happy spell making! |

Ooo... yay. I got three Elven ultimates I need for my campaign. First is Firestorm. Right now it's based of Death & Decay, has an AoE of 700 and a casting range of 500, so the hero is always effected by it. It has a 2% hp drain, but I'd prefer to change that to 10 hp/sec to ALL units within the casting area. It's got an aoe of 700, but for some reason the graphics only show up within about a 400 radius of center. Maybe it's just my settings, but I'd like you to chagne that if you can. I'm using the Flame Strike/Burning Oil graphics for the burning effect on the ground. Okay, now for the first extra effect... a shield of flamesthat effects enemy units within about a 220 area. I'd like the Flame Trap doodad to be used as the graphics. After 12 seconds, a small ring of fire appears around the caster, dealing an extra 10 damage to surrounding enemy units. These should be about 1/2 the size of a normal flame trap, and then also "flash" on and off in a pattern similar to Endurace Aura, or the doodad used in the bonus orc campaign to show a new map area (hope youknow what I mean). Then after 24 seconds, they grow to about 3/4 normal size and deal 20 damage per second. Then after 36 seconds, they reach full size and do 30 damage per second. The second effect is a large burst of flame (basically Flame Strike without the charging time or the lasting effect). At 15 seconds, the first ring of 3 flame pillars appears, dealing 33 damage/second for 3 seconds. They should be located at ~0 degrees, 120 degrees, and 240 degrees. At the 30 second mark, there are three pillars dealing 66 damage/sec (in the same postion as the first ring of flames) and then three smaller pillar dealing 33 damage/sec (in between the other pillars). Then at the 45 second mark, there's a massive wave of fire dealing 100 damge/sec to all enemy units in the area. I would like the small flames to be level 1 flame strike, large to be level 2, and then the massive wave of fire to be level 3, enlarged to cover the entire 700 AoE. If you can make it better through other effects, then go ahead. Keep in mind this spell is intended for a single player campaign, and because it is both a channeling spell and that the hero is taking the 2% damage/second, it is not often going to last till the last effect. My second is Snowstorm (hehehe I jsut realized they both end in "storm"). I would like the graphics to be like a gust of wind laden with snow, blowing from the northeast to the southwest. You can use whatever you wan to make it look like snow, just please no blobs of ice :p When it is cast, all of that players units within a 500 radius of hte hero get a light blue glow attached to the weapon. They have armor increased by 2, HP regeneration halved, mana regeneration doubled, and also get 5 extra damage with a 10-second frost/slowing bonus. These effects should last for 20-30 seconds. My last one is the pre-beta RoC Black Arrow ultimate. When it is fired, the target enemy unit takes about 60 damage per second. They should have an overhead attachmanet of the Black Arrow effect in Cookie's beta pack. When the target is about to die, HP should be reduced to 1 and it should become invulnerable. Its tint should be changed to dark purple, whatever shade looks good. All animations are paused and it can't move, attack, cast spells, anything. Then comes what I think is the hard part... when dispelling magic is used on it by the OWNER of the EFFECTED unit and it HASN'T gone into the comatose state, then the HP drain and overhead art are stopped. If it is dispelled AFTER the cromatose state, then it is instantly killed and it explodes, leaving no corpse. All my spells need to effect spell-immune units, since they are ultimates. The only exeption is the flame sheild and flame pillars of Firestorm. Well, that's it for now. It's kind funny that I'm doing my Elven spells when my troll campaing comes first :p |

I was damn busy this week, but Yesterday when looking at the saved html document in my floppy disk I noted that there were too few spells and most of the post where talking about lame stuff, anyways I made 3 of the requested spells: - Flame wave ward - Thunder Storm - Charged Bolt It was really funny to make those spells, thank you. I will need the other people to elaborate on their ideas a little, I can't understand most of them: DisplacerMonkey: What is a castle boiling pitch? If you are talking about a place with lava and fire balls going outside I can do it, if it isn't the idea please help me understand you. Is_freak: Can't get something about Firestorm, you want it to be a target area spell, but some rings of fire appear on the caster? that doesn't sound right Also what do you mean by "You can use whatever you wan to make it look like snow, just please no blobs of ice :p " ? Snow is made of Ice according to what I know from nature. Black Arrow is under development (look at a newest post for the map) |

Well, what I meant with Snowstorm is make it snowflakes and stuff... not big blobs of ice, like Ice Bolt, but something like Lich's attack might be okay, just not lots of it. Yes, I want the rings of fire around the caster, to act like a shield... the spells AoE is 700, but the cast range is 500, so the caster is being damaged along with everything else. With the flame shield, he has a slightly better chance of surviving to at least to 30-second mark. |

I already posted this on the other spells thread but i might as well put here as well Ok first a few unrelated 1's Despondency - Cast on an enemy unit, a negative buff. The unit gets reduced damage/armor. When it dies the buff passes on to the nearest enemy unit. Each level increases range of possible transfer and dmg/armor reduction. Could also make a postive buff version of this False Cure - Cast on an enemy unit, a negative buff. Whilst buff is present if that unit was 2 use a potion or be the target of a healing spell or be healed in any similiar way instead it takes damage equal to the healing value. Each level could increase duration Toxic Stench - An 'inferno' but poison instead of fire. Basically works in same way as shockwave but instead of 'force' poison appears from the caster and slowly moves through to target area poisoning all Non undead units along its path. Each level should increase range and width. ------- Spoils of Evil - Creates a random item in heroes inventory dependant on number of dead bodies in radius. Each body is removed, counted and divided by half. So e.g. if there were 10 bodies, they would all be removed then the hero would gain a random lvl 5 item in inventory. Each level could increase radius and number of bodies removed. Level 1 for example could be maxed at 6 bodies. Maybe come kind of animation where the souls are torn from the dead bodies and fly into the hero. Spoils of War - Same as above but instead makes a single unit whose life/damage/armor is dependant on number of bodies. They are all removed. Also good animation always helps ------- Death Pulse - Cast on target point, all nearby friendly (non hero) units die and a black orb is made with stats equivalent to number of units sacrificed but also there level, e.g. grunt/tauren. Potential for some good animations. Hecatomb - Same as above except a ward appears with life/damage equivalent to number of units/level of unit sacrificed Death Pit Offering Same as above but a ward appears with a positive aura thats boost all nearby friendly units damage/armor consideribly, the more units/level of units sacrificed the stronger the aura |

It is not possible with triggers, and Item versions of auras seem to have command buttons I am updating the map, due to a stupid bug with charged bolt It Includes Black Arrow (pre beta) , Couldn't download the model but you can just edit the Black Arrow (pre beta) buff to change the effect, Couldn't find a spell that damages each second and can be dispelled (Ok, I found unholy frenzy but it doesn't have missile, If you want you can use Unholy frenzy with the black arrow (pre beta buff) as spell. The corpse can be killed by dispel as you said- Also includes an alpha version of SnowStorm, it is still unfinnished (Uploaded the map mostly because of the charged bolt bug) |

I'm not at the editor right now, so I'm not sure this is possible, but can you add the Sphere buff to Unholy Frenzy? I don't know what else Sphere does though, I've been playing around with it trying to figure out what it does. |
