EmitterUsesMDL (model emitters)

I needed to dissect a dragon model recently, and came across this "model emitter." I knew these existed, but with a working example, it makes the syntax easier to deal with.

So now that we can make emitters emit actual models, what can we *do* with it? Blizzard seems to rearely use these, perhaps because they're not as useful as intuition tells me they are.

I want to find a few uses of model emitters to do some neat-looking things that cannot otherwise be done with normal particle emitters. Any ideas?

The blood spurts on death use these, I think.

I used this a while ago to nice effect by making an ice dragon explode with Frost by replacing the bones that go flying with the frost breath. Also can be used to make sheep go flying too. I think the most useful thing is if you want to either have particles within particles or 3d animating particles really.

maybe you could add a modle of a unit to the dragons neck i.e. someone riding a dragon. Dragon knights sound cool :D

If you wanted to do that, this would be a bad way. An emitted particle wouldn't really act like a rider, and would be locked to one animation. It also would drift with respect to the dragon.

Effect emitters would be cool, though. And perhaps emitter emitters for fireworks :)
