For my map one of the spawns options are a "hero" type spawn, where every unit spawned is a hero, but with auto selected abiltieis etc, for reduced micro. This makes for a interesting veterancy type system, where at lvl 10 the are replaced with a "Commander" and then a "General"version. Anyway because I have them spawning in large quantities over the course of the map, Im gona need lots of proper names, hopefully enough that there wont be two guys called the same thing. So basically just post any fitting name you can come up with, a first+2nd name will do, or perhaps something like "sefa the bludgenor". Here are the units that will require names: Human Footmen Orc Grunts Undead Ghouls Night Elf Sentries (used them instead of archers 4 balance reasons) Shame you cant rate posts in the map development thread, oh well |

Most of them dont fit, Tenn Flamecaster doesnt really work for a footman, same with Sage Truthbearer or Thorgas Broadaxe. |

That was a fairly bad example, but even still its a little to proper or formal for your ordinary footman whos more likely to be called Joe Bloggs or Jack the Dodgy or something. Anyway more actuall names plz! |

Would ghouls take names? I mean, they're really animated corpses, they might even keep the names of their former life. But, for sake of putting in some goofy names, they might mockingly name each other based on the state of decomposition: Leechtongue Wormeye Maggoty Joe Rotgut Pete Scabnose Stinkclaw Uncle Fester I doubt they'd have titles, particularly, but you could give them more descriptors: the Infested the Scabbrous the Vile the Vulture's Breath the Fetid the Corpselust howzat? I've always thought Biflspud was a great name for a Footman. 8)) |

I am with Nathanmx, thats what I do when I need a bunch of names. Take a bunch of first names and a bunch of descriptions and throw them together. You could even do that to the list Biflspud gave you. I mean what Biflspud gave you is 42 names alone.... If you do the same to Gung-Ho_Guns list and break it into name and title, theres 144 names there.... |
